I get what Cage was meaning to convey with this "piece", though it makes me wish people would stop what they're doing once in a while and listen to the world around them. And considering the fact that this was controversial (!!??!!!?) upon its release, it just goes to show that a lot of people are irritable and impatient when it comes to experiencing solitude. In other words, enjoying peaceful silence should be something innate, not something taught or instructed by "music" like this.
