  • I hve a midi can I do the same and how thanks

  • NICE WORK BRO

  • You are pretty amazing lol.

  • deadass man your videos are amazing. really get the point across and make it simple and easy to understand. thankyou.

  • @MERLINtehWIZ Thanks for the feedback!

  • @michaelromani you suggest downloading any packs? im trying to make hiphop beats and not sure whether i should be looking for songs to sample from or packs to get sounds from.

  • @MERLINtehWIZ Don't get packs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everything I've made is just using the out of box version of GB. Packs are always terrible. I'll be honest, any good producer won't share their sounds, they are greedy! So, packs are full of music, sounds and samples made by people that don't really understand hip hop, thus they make a living making "packs" instead of music. I wasted a bunch of money when I had an MPC on sound packs about 9 years ago and am still bitter!

  • Respond to this video... You have to find someone who makes sick beats and ask them how they do it, or go to whosampled(dot)com and just browse tracks and see how they use certain samples.

  • are you always chopping on the 1 beat? aka the bass drum kick? i was doing it backwards, i was cutting from the snare. this helps a lot man thanks, i'll probably send you some more messages if you dont mind, cause you really know how to chop samples well, and quickly. Just a tempo/time sig/ sample cutting tutorial all in one vid would be nice, this is the best vid ive found on youtube thus far. im using FL studio and m-audio trigger finger. Thanks bro!

  • u kno were i can get those sound from?

  • How do u change the tempo/speed of a sample? Please reply thx

  • @Pwegnerdog44 nvm

  • iv watched and spamed a few of your video's. You are really good and getting your point across. Iv watched alot of tutorial but some people seam to get to descripitive and get lost in the words. You have a very easy to understand style to teaching. 5* ps i gotta spam lol check out my channel thnx peace

  • @TheSavageMusicGroup Thanks. Nice videos, your page and music is real professional.

  • @michaelromani thank you, i appreciate it. Thnx for the tutorials. I use Logic but the priciples are the same. Peace!

  • When I import sample should I slow it down to the desired tempo of my song? DO you leave drums in your chops or cut them out?

  • Good stuff mane!!!

  • My friend just put me on to this... he's using garageband 08' version 4.1 and was able to follow the steps. I have garageband 09' version 5.1 and the steps do not work.. have you heard of other people having the same issues with updates garageband versions?

  • @MrCodypendent Not sure what is going on. I have '09.

  • @michaelromani Right on for the response... I tried updating and after I was able to follow the steps.. thanks

  • Is this song on the album?

  • @jbkrule Nope. This one isn't on it.

  • i like the final beat.. sounds good

  • do you record your samples through musical typing?how do you get your samples looped into a chorus?

  • are you just clicked and dragging to cut up the sample?

  • can u please help me i quite dnt knoe how to save the sample to use on musical typing please let me knoe or make vid showing..ill appreciate it lots

  • great video man ..just what i was looking for. and this sample is ILL.

  • Is it possible to assign cuts to a midi controller such a padkontrol so you could play out the sample or play around with it like on a mpc? Thanks! Dope beat too

  • @eezmusic Good question. I don't know actually. I think you can trigger the sample using the midi but I doubt (and am almost positive) you can't tweak it at all with the controller itself.

  • @eezmusic get a NI Maschine and you'll be able to do that :)

  • dope beat.

  • Thats an awsome beat. great videos

  • First I'd like to start of by saying thanks I'm an emcee who's transitioning over to the production side. I've owned GarageBand for 5 years and have never done more than record and arrange in it (besides corny apple loop attempts) but after using your tips I have opened the door of possibilities. Also I peeped the video about your work in Haiti you are an amazing cat man keep doin you

  • yeah good work i like how you explain stuff..

  • i usually use fruity loops, but my cpu is going through some issues, so someone gave me a mac and got gargeband on it,still tried to learn it by myself,i feel retarded..but imma use these tip's, thanks

  • how do you assign those samples you created to a midi controller such as a padkontrol instead of using the onscreen keyboard?

  • Dude, Ur videos are sooo good. Its good to see a video made by someone knowledgable in their area. Very inspirational. I went and brought a Mac from watching ur videos. Thanks alot for ur help.

  • @TheBDrinkin Thanks. I hope you're enjoying your Mac. I'm going to call Apple and let them know that I need a 10% commission on your purchase.

  • @TheBDrinkin congrats on the Mac!

  • do you have to use applause and laughter

  • @bj2much I always use "applause and Laughter" but you can use any of the sound effects instruments. Like Radio noises and... I forget what else. Comedy sounds or something.

  • wat button do you use to cut ?

  • @bj2much I highlight the area I want to cut and it "delete"

  • @michaelromani watt u cut it and it delete ? plzzz replyy

  • wat button do you use to cut

  • @lucasTHEleviathan The beat was off the hook. I was impressed.

  • how do you add a youtube track to GB?

  • @legen1987 and @ mrintroducer: Get this thing called "Soundflower" it is available for free. Google "soundflower mac" and it should be one of the first hits. You then have to change your system settings to sound out "soundflower 2ch" and then go to your garageband preferences and select sound in "soundflower 2ch." It is a pain in the butt, however 100% of my sounds are sampled of youtube, even most of the drums too! Free, free free!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Why when I Import the track the colour is blue and yours is purple?

  • @MrIntroducer Mine are recorded tracks that I recorded the audio off youtube on to garageband directly. It isn't imported. Everything I sample I get for free of youtube.

  • @michaelromani How do you record the audio directly to Garageband?

  • see at 1:34 in the audio editing region how theres like two tracks on top of eachother.. is one vocals and one instrumental kinda? i'm just curious thanks

  • @outburns Good question man. They are the left and right audio tracks. Sometimes they are about equal, same sounds coming out of both sides. But many times they have been mixed in a way that the right has more of one sound or all of one sound (ie. horns, voice, guitar....) and the other side has other sounds, but they is usually a mix of sounds between both.

  • @michaelromani thanks, is there any way to split them in garageband?

  • @outburns not that i know of

  • I deal mostly with loops, is there any to time stretch in garage band?

  • @dspamoni not really. Basically the only thing GB is missing. If they had a more precise BPM it might work out. You can do it but it takes forever and it might not loop exactly how you want.

  • oh preciate the tips, I've been doing this since your old vids. I've down some sampling but I haven't compressed the tracks yet.

  • Very great tutorial. thanks a bunch!
