by the way ive seen it on other video's of some loco's mainly bulleid pacifics but whats the explanation for the tank engine sliding along at 10 seconds without its wheels moving? cause that really bugs me trying to figure that out lol are the brakes just on full or something while its moving?
Not entirely sure but there was a small problem with lubrication of the motion at Eastleigh we were informed, but that may not be the reason it has remained!
I doubt it Southern Locomotives wouldn't risk jeopardising their other loco restorations for the sake of getting Manston mainline certified. Nice thought though!
to be honest i have no idea it just says on the railways website. to me it looks like a good performer and it don't look like any work needs doing. so i really i dunno

34070 is staying at eastleigh to be lifted. It says on the swanage railways website
tombalon1994 2 years ago 2
Wonder why it needs lifting? Its performed faultlessly so far!
PelipsciousPete 2 years ago
Lifted, for what to be done?
60103Henry 2 years ago
It must need lifting to cure the lubrication problem I'm assuming...they'll need to gain access to the motion for this.
PelipsciousPete 2 years ago
Thanks for the explanation!

No the front bogie ran a hot box nothing to do with the motion!
