The cops were wholly justified in how they reacted. The uploader of this video clearly has a bias and is assuming that because they killed the man, they're in the wrong. The man CLEARLY pulled back his weapon (sorry uploader, definitely more than just a "bar") in an attempt to hit the officer who didn't have the dog.

@deeruck2 , A swing doesnt have to be an actual swing. It can be an aggressive standing position or in a stants at which a subject has the ability to swing or injure an officer. He turned towards the officers and was in an agressive stants.

Great shooting!!! Totally justified!! Moral is, don't attempt to swing at the police with a metal bar.... And yes, it's clear he was about to swing at the officers with the deadly instrument. They also used the proper use of force options. They attempted to use a less lethal weapon, which had no affect... Next thing to do is use deadly force to stop the subject... To me, this case will largely depend on what that man was carrying.If it is an axe, then police were justified in shooting this man and should be commended.Someone has mention it is a T-shaped ruler-if it is the latter, these officers should go to prison if there is any justice.Such are the pressures faced by police.

I find this video very disturbing.Was the lethal force used in proportion to the threat posed?-what were all the circumstances?-admittedly I don't know what happened inside the building,but based on this evidence I would imagine there will be serious questions to be asked of these police officers and I certainly would like to be in their shoes when it goes to court.

In the info box, it says "Did you see him swing at the cops? I didn't"....you must be blind because after he was tased at :37, he turns to swing at the back cop which is why the cop with the dog opened fire because the other cop hadn't had his gun out yet. Then when the hoodlum or whatever you wanna call him didn't fall to the ground, the other cop shot him. They did what they had to do. They didn't intentionally kill him, but you have to do what you have to do to stop the threat.

@fokjock Cops aren't trained to kill. They're trained to stop the threat. 5 shots were fired from the first cop, and he didn't go down. That's when the other cop opened fire. To get him down. They ended up killing him. They didn't say "OH I'm gonna shoot him and kill him on purpose"...they simply did what they needed to do.

After the first shots were fired, you clearly see the guy turn to run which is why the second cop opened fire. YES, I agree they should have released the dog first..poor decision on their part. But all in all, the cops did what they needed to do and I support it 100%. My father has been a police officer for 30 years. Been the chief in town since 1999. I guess that's why I see it differently.

Actually both had 12 more rounds in their magazines. Also, If you're going to shoot someone, you don't shoot once and wait to perceive a reaction. You shoot several times. The guy turns to swing at the cop that peppersprayed him, which is why the cop with the dog opened fire. The other cop hadn't had his gun out yet.

There are a lot of factors that will be looked at. Bottom line is let the cops do their job. Someone called and needed help. The cops showed up and solved the problem.
