Grendel: I can't disagree with what you've said. The last 8 yrs have been a disaster...even from a conservative's point of view. But, I can't vote for BO for two reason (1) The Dems will increase control of the House and Senate and I will NEVER vote to give one party complete control again. Each time this has happened in my lifetime, the party has overreached, and (2) BO is too far left for me on taxes and govt expansion. At least I think he's too far left when I look at his web site.

Do you know historically it's been the Dems who have balanced budgets? The Reps like living with deficits & now ours is HUGE. I could go on about legislation that has helped corporations, but not employees and ordinary people. The corps will still have their lobbies. The Dems have had a majority lately & Bush vetos.

Ctnd to JohnR: 2)Govt expansion has happened under Reps. It's just in different ways. You bail out corps or bail out people (i.e. social services, education). Taxes would mainly concern people making over $200K (they have many IRS loopholes). Why are they complaining at the expense of the country's welfare & economy? Our economy is worse than reported (unemployment too). If 4 yrs look bad vote in a Rep then, but we've had 8 yrs of Reps. McCain would increase govt via debt for the future. War.
