  • green peace is not happy

  • the dump and burn these days is a waste but it was good in Vietnam, used to use it to give a quick "Light Up" of the jungle

  • i was at that exact same airshow, i remember when 3 of the F-111's did a low pass over the crowd of people, first you see the jets fly over, then 5 seconds later you here the the loouudd raawwrr!

you won't know what hit ya.

  • man that dump and burn is a waste of fuel .........afterburner mi say MEEELLLLT !

  • my dad flew F-111's and F-4's

  • Is This F-111 from US or Australian Air Force?

Your maximum speed is the same of F-15: Mach 2.5.

    Wonderful aircraft !!!

  • @F5skyhawk

def Australian judging by the announcer

  • @OlderG0ds no shit its the perth air show

  • @xxp417 like I know where perth is..

  • @OlderG0ds Australia

  • @AirplaneFanatic22 haha well yea I know that now but I've never heard of it before.

  • The F111 on full AB takeoff, was awesome. Been there, got the T shirt lol. I remember seeing, and HEARING !!! them at Upper Heyford in the late 70's, oh happy days.

  • sweeet

  • You should be right next to it in full AB wow shook the teeth out of my head, former crew chief and flight control specialist TD Mckay

  • Love the F111, that's a really good ground shot of this excellent aircraft. I used to get as close to this plane as possible, when it was rolling along the runway, to experience that awesome sound. It looked as good on the ground, as it did in the air !!

  • what yr is ythis??

  • this is not allowed in the US anymore

  • don't use f-111 what are you talking about lol.

  • eres un pobre estúpido usando una cámara imbécil

  • The huge fire is basically a fuel dump, but when they dump the fuel, the afterburners ignite it.

  • not basically, IS, it is used for emergency landings, cant go belly down full of fuel safely, and as for ClearofMind08, yeah the dump and burn does.

  • You know that afterburn has to give one hell of a heat signature.

  • Wow cheers mate that brings back good memories I was there on the Saturday of the weekend show. Got some great pics of me holding an M4 carbine from the navy clearance teams. It was a great show although we didn't get as many aircraft as all the eastern states get for their shows

  • where`s part 2?

  • Its fuel dumping to lighten the load for landing ignighting its jsut a show piece

  • well, if we apply logic, I guess the fire would be to distance heat seeking missles from their asses...

  • Maybe, maybe... or it might be just for show. :P

  • why the hell the fire?

  • its called a "Dump and Burn"

quite simply - the pilot eqects fuel from the rear of the aircraft, and ignites it with the Afterburner of the Engines

  • The Aardvark terminology is sometimes confusing. Early in the design and production process, Def Sec. MacNamera deemed that this aircraft be used by both the AF and Navy. Hence the F-111A was the initial AF version, and the YF-11B was the Navy version. The naval version was rejected, and the aircraft served a nuclear bomber role as the FB-111. Although designated "F", it was really a multipurpose "attack" aircraft.

  • Im working on a model of tis plane XD

  • F-111 is a bomber/ground attack aircraft, not a fighter.

  • oh yes you are right!
