Are you a UNT alumni? Someone spotted this in Denton yesterday at the chicken express next to campus during the homecoming game. I've never seen or heard of these before, had to research it, I'm really interested.
Jears ago, I visited the manufacturing halls in Winterthur (swiss) and spoke to Mr. Wagner. He spend me a ride on the backseat of an Ecomobile and it was incredible cool!
This vehicles combine the agility of a supercar with the consumption of a microcar and the all-year usability of a VW Golf and the feeling of a sport plane.
Not cheap to buy, but cheap (and verry special feeling!) to use.
@T3hbassmasta It is considered a motorcycle in the US. It's admittedly a little different than either a car or a motorcycle, but one can learn quickly. It's really a fantastic back-country, two-lane highway, sweeping curves machine.
@crazywolf889 It was made by Germans. German vehicles don't topple, and they make sure of it. They also don't smile much, and have next to no sense of humor. If they could engineer the earth's gravitational pull, they would.
@ReconCloneCommando Ah I knew someone would think I was talking about Germans themselves. I was referring to their cars. I'm pretty sure Germans are witty. See, you can laugh at a Dodge Viper's exhaust setting its own paint on fire, or the people at TVR using the fiberglass oven to cook a pizza. But only in Audi would you get fired if you were an upholsterer with garlic breath.
@crazywolf889 Oh, I dunno. I kinda like the concept, actually. If the "training-wheels" on the thing are deployed electronically (and I think they are), then there's no issue. Consider just how many things are electronically controlled these days, but we never question their reliability enough to not use them; things like ABS and E-diffs and Electronic Engine Management.
Doug, Nice wheels up after a 2 yr break from cabincycle cruising, hope you get one for yourself sometime. Three should be in Daytona first wk of March '10. Got a ride in the electric version at Brno last summer, awesome acceleration exceeded by the extreme quiet, totally out of the future and may do well with the x-prize. Mohnman
That idea was bad in 1938 already - why does this exist?!!

If you drive that in England with all our potholes you will DIE when the training wheels deploy. I absolutely love this thing though great job.

@kibcubed actually the wheels used to be automatic but recently they realized human interaction was better

Imagine if the training wheels stopped working at a red-light, you'd just topple over like a doofus

Somehow I think the manufacturer has anticipated that and made sure that that will not happen.
