@Lovelyballeriina The majority of the DVD is a demonstration of how to develop/ correct turn-out in a variety of positions, poses and exercises. That said, I'm sure the I will continue demonstrating turn-out development in future DVDs as it is a huge issue. Cheers
That works!! That's fantastic! Yes, I've always been told to tendu with less than 180 degrees to maintain the rotation in the leg. So, are you saying that the more, I work on getting to 180 degrees, than the correct muscles will build and my turnout will improve? Also, holding my leg in a la seconde has always been tricky for this same reason. I'm using that tendon (is it called the hip flexor?).
Yes that is exactly what I'm saying! Your turn-out will improve by correctly placing your leg to the side, but that is the tricky part, placement and is the subject of the dvd. It is essential to apply correct placement when working turn-out so, for example, the muscles of the rear do the job of holding the leg and not that tendon. Cheers
@AmericanCinemaBallet Thanks. Now, I've incorporated this for myself, but my next question is how about when I'm just standing in 5th position. I can't imagine that I just force my feet out. So, I guess what I'm wondering is how to keep working on that turnout?

Hi eric, I have a little question... Does your DVD The Secrets of Russian Ballet Vol. 1
have excersises for developing turnout?
Or I must wait for another documentary you are releasing?
Thank you,
Laura.
