If you've ever used the Unity desktop, you'd know that it is far from being nearly as functional as the OS X GUi, and needs a lot of work. Many supporters of Ubuntu are unhappy with Unity, and prefer Gnome. Finally, the only thing ironic about your post is your misuse of the word "irony," which is one of the most misused English words.

Virtualization happens very elegantly on Ubuntu thanks to Compiz. Its a much better experience than windows and OSX. I actually had a setup like that for a couple of months, but the issues I had with the video driver on the virtual machine had me going back to real.

I like Linux and Windows. I like the mobile Mac OS but not for computers, I don't find it as intuitive and easy to use as Linux and Windows.

I prefer Windows because I'm more used to it, it has a lot of features and they're easy to access, and it's compatible with pretty much all software and hardware. What I don't like about Windows is that - because of all the features and compatibility - it's easy for it to become "bloated". The solution is to clean it up every now and then.

i can't believe I actually bought windows 7. All it does is crash, and half the games don't work on it (plus it has thousands of bugs). Until they make a better windows, I'm sticking to XP. Microsoft develops DirectX and it's the platform almost all PC games use. Windows is not for multitasking simply because of how the kernel operates and how the filesystem (NTFS) writes. I think I'm a little more qualified than a teenager to discuss the differences of OSes.

Honestly, stop talking. Steam on Mac is comprised 3/4 of games that we all beat on PC 4 years ago. Even Left 4 Dead 2 is based on the Source Engine, which came out in 2005.

And no, Macs CAN'T run any game, at least not at any respectable speeds. IGN just posted an article proving that a 2-year old Macbook Pro is INCAPABLE of running Starcraft II at High or Ultra settings.

The current $1999 iMac only gets 28 FPS at 1680x1050. A $1000 PC? 110FPS at the same resolution.

XP takes less because it's practically ancient, I've run it on 120 mb of ram and definitely doesn't give the same power. XP is GREAT and significantly better than anything mac puts out simply because it's more flexible. W7 is a greatly improved XP not a minorly improved vista.
