We went to see Erykah at the Ottawa Bluesfest, she was scheduled to play from 8pm to 9:30 pm. By 8:30 the crowd was booing, by 8:35 half the audience had given up and started to go find seats at other shows. It was after 8:45 when she finally deigned to make an appearance,. She scowled at the audience when she took the stage. We left too. Talk about pathetic. I lost all respect for the woman. Talk about an overstuffed ego.

Lakeside, Zapp Band, Gap Band, Rick James, Maze, ConFunkShun, Earth Wind and Fire, Prince, The Time, Luther Vandross etc. used to really PERFORM! I had the pleasure of being front and center in Austin, Texas when Erykah brought the house down. Common rushed the stage at the end of the set and laid down a mean rap. The joint went ballistic. Erykah is the one and only female getting Knee Deep and breaking it down On The One!!!
