I like mellow high`s, sativa is what most people want... at least when a cop or a teacher or a parent asks you whats up at least your still good enough to make up an excuse that doesn't sound like a train hit you, unless you smoke a decent amount to your head, lol. Ehh I agree with Joe that sativa is a much more psychadelic high and that it makes you think about a lot more deep shit, but Indica can be nice if you just want to sit around and watch TV and order pizza and fall asleep.
I know exactly what that other guy is talking about when he says that it can "make you think everything you say is stupid," but if you get some high quality indica like real kush, it can actually be pretty relaxing.

I disagree with rogan, although sativa is better, most weed today are hybrids, there are rarely ever pure indica or pure sativas anymore, they are all mixed mostly.
Most weed gives you some couch lock feeling but also makes you think alot about life like sativa, which means its a hybrid of dominantly indica with a trace of sativa.
ruderalis usually isn't in your common weed but its used for certain species like aurora indica (a ruderalis and indica mix) this is a special species because when its grown you wont need to have the lights on and off for certain amounts of time during vegatative and flowering cycles so you could easily grow it in a window or something and also they dont grow much more than a foot tall so its pretty lope :)
and btw for people who are still confused about strains....
there are 3 different genomes as mentioned above. different strains are just different ratios of theses different genomes (usually just indica and sativa but sometimes ruderalis too)
for example something like purple kush is about 75% indica and 25% sativa while somethign like white widow is about 10% indica and 90% sativa. diferent strains were breed by different people to create their own "perfect weed"

Actually. there is 3 species of marijuana. Sativa, Indica, and Ruderalis. Ruderalis however doesn't have thc. They now have bred Ruderalis with other sativa and indica strains to produce a plant that auto flowers itself without having to change the light cycle, and it has strong amounts of thc in it.
I hate when people say this. You still FEEL the high all over no matter which strain it is. The difference is the actual mental effects, not the physical effects, or where you feel the high on your body.

I want to make a video of me stoned on Sativa doing something and then me on an Indica doing the same thing to compare. Example: One gram Indica smoked, then I go to order food. Then the next day I do the same thing with a Sativa. Ill put myself in different scenarios with different highs.

Cannabis follows typical patterns of Mendelian inheritance, particularly regarding the THC and CBD inheritance. THC/CBD are codominant (genes for both will be expressed if the plant has them). Cannabinoids are selected for by the environment (THC will be selected for below 30N latitude, CBD above 30N).

Humans have taken this further with artificial selection. With artificial selection and inbreeding, you can tease out the particular traits you want with breeding (but there are drawbacks, as deleterious genes causing mutation build over time).
With any two inbred (homologous) lines, you can interbreed the two and create a hybrid (heterogeneous). Often this hybrid will display a phenomena called heterosis, or hybrid vigor, which causes the hybrids to yield more, grow better, resist disease, etc

By inbreeding the hybrid population, you get a population of individuals where around 50% are still a heterogeneous mix of the parents, and 25% are homologous for akin to one of the parents and 25% of the population is homologous like the other parent. Example: 2 homologous co-dominant parents red and white color have sex all babies of this F1 population are an equal mix of red and white (ie, pink). Babies of F1 all inbreed, of their children (F2) 25% are red 50% are mixed(pink) 25% are white.

I disagree with rogan, although sativa is better, most weed today are hybrids, there are rarely ever pure indica or pure sativas anymore, they are all mixed mostly.
Most weed gives you some couch lock feeling but also makes you think alot about life like sativa, which means its a hybrid of dominantly indica with a trace of sativa.

ruderalis usually isn't in your common weed but its used for certain species like aurora indica (a ruderalis and indica mix) this is a special species because when its grown you wont need to have the lights on and off for certain amounts of time during vegatative and flowering cycles so you could easily grow it in a window or something and also they dont grow much more than a foot tall so its pretty lope :)

and btw for people who are still confused about strains....
there are 3 different genomes as mentioned above. different strains are just different ratios of theses different genomes (usually just indica and sativa but sometimes ruderalis too)
for example something like purple kush is about 75% indica and 25% sativa while somethign like white widow is about 10% indica and 90% sativa. diferent strains were breed by different people to create their own "perfect weed"

Taxonomically there is only one species within the Cannabis genus, sativa.
The sativa species can be broken down into a number of varieties and cultivars based on various factors, but, really, there is no indica or other cannabis species.
The high is a combination of cannabinoids and personal biochemistry, but the high follows a general pattern. Upon first smoking, you are up (the head high), and as time goes on, you become tired (the body buzz).

All individuals of cannabis for the most part freely interbreed with all other individuals, despite morphological variations and geographic location.
Chihuahua's and great dane's are one species, they can mate and have offspring. But they *APPEAR* different.

If you read the literature, you can copy all taxonomic keys ever made for cannabis. If done, one finds many contradictions. The problem is when people try to describe different species or varieties, they all conflict with one another; no one can agree on and discriminate between what would actually be an indica vs sativa.

Actually. there is 3 species of marijuana. Sativa, Indica, and Ruderalis. Ruderalis however doesn't have thc. They now have bred Ruderalis with other sativa and indica strains to produce a plant that auto flowers itself without having to change the light cycle, and it has strong amounts of thc in it.

Sativa = nown to cause more of a "high" by stimulating hunger and by producing a rather more comedic, or energetic feeling feeling, you want to go do things talk more etc.
Indica = known to cause more of a "stoned" type of feeling, you can become "couch locked" due to a higher CBD to THC ratio.

The levels of cannabinoids (like THC) and personal biochemistry cause the high and are the results of its progression.
CBD doesn't make you stoned at all, it is not psychoactive in any way. CBD does relieve pain and inflammation, and will modify the effect of THC.

@T3traHC More THC is just going to have a stronger effect. This is simply a result of breeding and selection. Most cannabis, particularly in north america, has nearly all the CBD and accessory cannabinoids bred out of it (ie. they are homologous for THC). CBD modulates THC, blocking it from binding to receptors in the brain
All the variety we see in cannabis is simply the result of natural variation, the species being highly polytypic. Humans, dogs, and many species are exactly this way.

But ya if u get technical there are 2 species. and ya 1 has more of a sleepy affect than the other, and the THC and CBD ratios but really that's all that's for sure.

In reality the high will first bring you "up", and as time progresses you will experience the "couchlock" effect.
Smoking repeats the process, bringing you back "up", but tolerance and personal biochemistry of both the individual plant and person play a part in duration of the high and the time from "up" to "couchlock"!

Theres actually three types of weed sativa, indica, and ruderalis. Indica and sativa are the best kind, ruderalis has a very low thc potency, and gives you headaches.
