This spider was not harmed during thise recording - This sort of spider, when feel threaten it starts to rub off the hair on its legs that has an mild poison-enzym cover, when the hair spread through the air it can sent them right to your eyes, and blind you for hours.

This spider is typical seen it south america, at places with alot of moist in the air, such as Amazonas, where it likes to hide and way for a centipede to cross its way.

It has no venom, you should not fear this spider but you should take care, if you do get the hairs in your eyes, seek a doctor or hospital. the hairs will set your eyeballs on fire (not lideryly). Theres no recordings on attack humans on these spiders.

IF it has been there for along time, it MIGHT be a bid terroterial.

my advice is take on some glasses, and poke it carefully away with a stick.

The guy who recorded this did the right thing and set it free.

@igrowweedfromaseed actually it does have venom, it is not able to cause much damage but it will HURT if you get bitten if you leave it it will leave you alone. this is an african tarantula and these tarantulas dont have those irritating hairs that is a trait possessed only in tarantulas from the western world. that was an adult male which means that it is most likely wandering around trying to find a female to mate with, it is unlikely that it was actually going to stay around that area.

Yes they do have venom, like all tarantulas do. They just have the urticating hairs as a first line of defense. Any tarantula has the potential of being dangerous, even species that are usually considered docile. Also this is one of the only tarantulas in the world that can swim and fish for prey if needed.
