@BitchyMcBatman actually she didn't have a a record deal with her band at the time because they were dropped from their label. you'd actually be surprised how many people on the voice had some sort of career before going on there. the only rule to join was you couldn't have a record deal while competing. also think it's funny that some people - not you but others think she left meg & dia and blame her but meg pushed her to audition and its funny to hear people not be informed.

Dia has said the last few years for her band after they were dropped by their record label have been very hard. They had to cut way back on their touring for lack of gas money. They self-financed their last album "Cocoon," recording in her mother's house because they could not afford studio time. Band members took day jobs to support themselves. And at the time of The Voice auditions, Dia was looking for voice-over work. She went on The Voice to drum up publicity for "Cocoon."
