This is a great video for illustrating a submachine gun that fires from an open bolt position, like the Uzi or Thompson / Tommy gun.

This makes them a little less accurate, but hopefully that's not ever critical to your particular application! *grin*

What program do you use to get the slow motion so smooth?

I used a Sony HDR-SR1 Digital HD Camcorder. It comes with a slow-mo function. The only draw back is that the image isn't HD quality and is a little fuzzy. It also only records for 10 seconds and has no sounds. Nonetheless, it still pretty cool.
