Well, ummm...because the U.S. is not IN the eastern hemisphere. ;-) Seriously, though... there will be an annular eclipse in the western U.S. on May 20, 2012. Depending on where you live, you may still have to do some travelling to see it. Try a Google search on "annular solar eclipse 2012". To see a total eclipse in the U.S., you'll have to wait until 2017.
@AlvaroAndfriends , -- The hemispheres are separated by the equator. They are the north ans the south hemispheres. So if you want to see an eclipse you must know where to look and you must remember not to "suck" while you're looking.
@AlvaroAndfriends i am in canada and when i was young i have been witness of one solar eclipse. And in 2008 a total solar eclipse on August 01 which was visible from northern Canada to...
omg were all gonna die lol jk. eh it's interesting I'm more interested in weather or not the LHC(large hydrogen collider) is or has been re-activated I know the first test was semi-successful but a few major problems occurred. CBS need to post some more videos about the damn LHC. wonder if the theory of it producing microscopic black holes was ever brought to fruition.
