  • From that I take it you didn't work on the ad's creation nor it's production and your statements are theories and assumptions? If so, what is your basis for your theories if you don't mind me asking? I'm interested in why you think the casting decision was racially motivated? Is this drawn from your life, a subject you are studying or something else for example?

  • Couldn't watch this commercial without thinking about the Ad people who made the conscious decision to cast the lightest black man ever (other than reggie miller) to appeal to black and white people. Would've much preffered a REAL white or black person than this guy who doesn't exist on the color scale.

  • @shatwood you do realize that by making everything racial, you are way more racist than your average bigot, right?

Maybe they just hired the guy because they thought he was a good actor. Maybe he did well in the audition. Not everything has to be about what skin tone someone is.

  • @Ravenkliff

No, by making this racial I am making this...racial. Not racist. I didn't say the actor is "bad" because he is of color, I said the actor was chosen BECAUSE of his color. That's a racial statement, not a racist statement. I didnt say anything negative about the guy. ANYWAY, you're getting off base in the first place. The whole point of the post was about how Ad folks have to try to appeal to a wide base, thus they chose this guy--black, but not TOO black. White, but not TOO white

  • @Ravenkliff

Certainly you could be right, and the actor was chosen SOLELY off his acting ability. I would just add that I am sure the kid can act, but that it didnt hurt him that he is of color, and a very LIGHT color at that. You need to understand that these decisions ARE made in casting. Maybe not in this case, but to believe that certain folks aren't picked with the hope that their skin color will appeal to a wider base is just plain naive. That's all I'm saying. Not trying to be racist

  • @Ravenkliff Shatwood is right in this case. The casting was done on purpose. You sir, are sounding like that typical online troll who tries to defend an uber-liberal agenda and promote radical thinking ESPECIALLY when it comes to race. My golly, there are people with other-views and you're not changing them by slamming their post. Get a life!

  • @bravos1987 Bravos, thank you for your kind words, it is shocking this day and age that people are so ignorant and close minded, people like RavenKliff. This guy has some balls to say such terrible, ignorant things about race in this country. He is a hater, and a troll, and if I was Bill O'reilly, I would call him a pinhead AND a HaterTroll. Hopefully one day people will open their eyes, and hatertrolls like RavenClaw will go away. Until then, it's you and I bravos fighting for racial justice.

  • @shatwood you seem to know a lot about the casting process. Did you work on the production?

  • @theadrianveidt

It really is just an issue of the product you are selling and the market one wants to grab. Depending on population growth in different communities and the prduct being sold, it will have a strong effect on the sex and/or color of the person representing the product. Hence I strongly believe that in Kellog's case, with only one character to use, they covered both their "White" and "Black" bases by having a relatively light skinned black person as the lead.

  • dumbest commercial ever.

  • im surprised he still has a face after this 0:37

but when you eat kellog's you can pretty do everything perfectly

  • he pretty clearly mouths "FUCK" at 1:56

  • I love Kellogs....call me old school but I like to add my own sugar.

  • that dude was totally scratching his junk through his briefs at the beginning of that.

  • If you don't eat Kellogg's in the morning you'll be fucked FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER. >:C

  • Sex can sell anything even breakfast cereal

  • So before he even at breakfast he was already lagging behind. Seems to me it would have been better to have identical morning up until the point where one of them skipped breakfast. I guess the writers at Kellog's didn't have breakfast or something.

  • @pyrobryan the purpose of the add was to make time for breakfast, not just to have breakfast. Person 2 did not make time for breakfast so logically he was screwed for the rest of the day.
