People loved this theme in Dragon Ball, but hate this theme played as the last episode recap theme of later episodes of Kai, in favor of Bruce Falconer's music (...what?).

I personally hate most of the people that claim they're Dragon Ball fans in the US, when all they've seen was the butchering of Z done by FUNimation. Even their awesome dub of Kai can't undo the damage.

Naruto doesn't have any mature themes that Dragon Ball doesn't have. They're both intended for children of the same age group in Japan. Ie: Shonen.

Dragon Ball is a lot more diverse with it's mature themes however, being that it appeals to a wider audience.

@kira1death Naruto is just little piece of shit comparing to Dragon Ball which was the original influence to every popular anime today! Naruto's music sucks ASS! Especially the openings. Almost every song in the naruto is soo stupid. Those BMGs have no ambiance at all. Dragon Ball has.. A lot! Thats the thing what makes dragon ball more serious series unlike naruto which is kid's show.. Naruto series indeed has only one good song which name is "Sadness and Sorrow"

@shamif wow fanboy hold up now i love dbz but i prefer Americanized dbz over Japanese dbz and second i lik naruto alot aswell and ur right naruto has alot of dbz influences but its not a kids show its directed towards more mature audience as for dbz ya it has alot of mature fans but that dosnt change the fact that its mainly directed towards younger kids.and btw its ur opinon that naruto music sucks and its my opinion dbz music sucks(japanese dbz)so lets respect each others opinions ^^

@kira1death No doubt, you call DBZ audience immature, when only DBZ you have watched is the Disney'ed USA version.

And DBZ is way better than Naruto, here are few examples:

1. Japanese voices/language isn't so annoying like in Naruto or Bleach (*nowadays animes).

2. The characters are clear, living - you can bond with them.

3. The drawing style is original and nicer to eyes - no BIG, DIGITAL EYES O_O, no flat faces (*Naruto)...

4. It is full of morals, not some noncence for primary school kids.

I couldn't agree more. There's more emphasis on shiny new animation than the actual story. I'll take my 80s/90s anime (Dragonball, Fist of the North Star, Saint Seiya, Akira, etc), shows that actually had heart and character over today's anime that are all cliche generic "deep" whiny storylines meant for emo kids and fat girls who won't shut up about Naruto. The only post 90s anime Ive enjoyed is Gurren Lagann and Hajime no Ippo. If you like DBZ, you'll love those two shows as well

Nowadays animes are mostly a fan-service with a mix of rehashed stories for - like you have said - emo boyz and fat, ugly, goth girls, who greet with each other by words like: "Ohayo! Osu!". There is a lot of digital crap, that when you're watching the anime, you actually shrunk in your seat with an embarrassment. And I don't get, why people are comparing Naruto to Dragon Ball, while these are different dimensions.

Hokuto no Ken, Saint Seiya - :D - Also, Rikki-Oh is very nice.

PS: Nowadays animes are just porn with stupid fillers (*nonsence humor - big heads, small bodies and white eyes, like in Naruto). And a lot of CGI.

Later in the Babidi Arc they let the first theme play when Babidis henchmen awakened Yakon and then catched the two of them but in my opinion it dind´t even fit a bit as it fitted Piccolo...
