  • QUESTION: How much Research Experience is needed to impress Medical School?

  • No, at my university, professors will turn you away or stare at you awkwardly as though you had lost your mind asking such a question. Many of them prefer to work alone or with 1 or 2 graduate students. Plus they are researching topics that are far beyond what we are even performing in Chemistry or Biology labs. But if you search you can always find what you are looking for! :D

  • Really? At my school, there are like 3-5 undergrad kids in each chemistry/bio/biochemistry research group.

  • I am thinking that some research groups have around that amount. At least from what I know now. But what I am interested in, the professors only trust graduate students to not screw things up. I hope I can get something soon. I have only had one semester of research experience!

  • I see. I have no research experience so far... :( Well I'm not premed or planning to do research for my career but I want to have some research experience so I'll be working in a physical chem lab starting this september. Good luck!

  • It helps if you are in a large university

  • @SHERmeleon I truly feel bad for you. Professors always have the motto: "more slaves/ lab monkeys, less works for them".

  • Thanks!!

  • Good video

  • I underestimated the power of participating in research, thanks for the advice.

  • These videos are very helpful, thank you.
