  • He had the most greatest lines in Horror history! =]

  • the one and only,Donald Pleasance.r.i.p

  • lol at the description. awesome

  • Sheriff - Think i should notify the radio and...

    Loomis - nah fuck dat

  • Michael Myers is a true story

  • @Evokes213 No it's not. "HalloweeN" is an original story written by John Carpenter and Debra Hill.

  • im losing faith in cops ability to handle UN killable forces. mabe you should let Dr. Loomis handle Myers and let the cop go find a car parked wrong or a stoned teenager

  • @Wegota10

    WIN!!!!!

  • @Wegota10 cops can't tell the future, they can only stop it from happening

  • I met him, fifteen years ago. I was told there was nothing left. No reason No conscience No understanding and even the most rudimentary sense of life or Death good or evil, RIGHT OR WRONG I met this six-year-old child, with this blank pale, emotionless face and, the blackest eyes... the *devil's* eyes. I spend 8 years trying to reach him and then another seven trying to keep him locked up because I realised what was living behind thats boy eyes was Purely and Simply EVIL, cop what do we do.

  • The Blackest Eyes..The Devil's Eyes.

  • Happy halloween Mr. Simmons...

  • Simmons

  • I really doubt any horror film could beat the amount of emotion and beauty this film had. They don't make horror films like this anymore which is so sad, it seems nobody can come up with an original movie anymore that would spark a new great horror franchise. Enough with the damn Torture porn crap!

  • SIMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONS!

  • I remember, once long ago, I had this game in my possession. I just remember seeing this blank cartridge for a pale, emotionless game, with the dullest graphics and the most awful gameplay. I spent eight years trying to figure it out, and another seven trying to keep it locked in my closet, because I realized what was living behind that game was simply evil."

  • Halloween: Dr, Loomis

    Scream: Billy Loomis

    Someone explain!

  • @BrandonSinkovich Horror movie creators like to reference where they get their inspiration from Scream's Loomis is probably a reference to Dr. Sam Loomis in Halloween. In case you didn't know The 'chain' of Loomis probably started from Hitchcock's Psycho Which also had a Sam Loomis.

  • @McCauleyPaulin Yes true...I was board when I posted that lol

  • I met him fifteen years ago. I was told there was nothing left. No reason, no, uh, conscience, no understanding and even the most rudimentary sense of life or death, of good or evil, right or wrong. I met this six year old child with this blank, pale, emotionless face, and the blackest eyes, the devil's eyes. I spent eight years trying to reach him and then another seven trying to keep him locked up because I realized that what was living behind that boy's eyes was purely and simply evil...

  • this is why nobody can play dr loomis except the 1 and only donald pleasance thumbs up if u agree

  • @imthechamp100 totally agree !

  • pure evil

  • The music of the Halloween series is the best of all horror movies. So simple, yet so haunting. Excellent.

  • R.I.P

  • The original did more with a lot less but with a lot more feeling. Donald Pleasance had a short amount of screen time but he made the most of it, practically stealing the movie.

  • EPIC

  • Halloween isn't the same without Dr.Loomis

  • Catching the imagination of the viewer. That's what it was all about ! I alway though Michael wasn't about the physical being but rather his soul. And the way Loomis describe the young boy... gosh, if we could see a soul, i alway imagine michael myer one as black as a destructive black hole...

  • @HUDJ0679790 Or how about something that would make you crazy like a H.P. Lovecraft creature? All about the soul as i've said ...

  • Donald Pleasance was a World War 2 vet.

  • I love doctor loomis. He had some serious balls. I mean the size of these well put balls is like none other I have ever seen. Gallons. Atleast.

  • these old school films are way better than the new crap...John Carpenter where are you?! The dude is awesome, he's the only director that I know of that makes his own music to his films...that's extremely respectable!

  • @The79Machine clint eastwood does too

  • @Stevofaves clint makes music too? hmm i didn't know that man thanks for the tip

  • This is so Iconic

  • "No, if you do that, they might actually catch him before he kills a bunch of people."

  • this guy is way better than the new loomis in the revival movie

  • That says it 'all.'

  • Nice speech Loomis

  • Carpenter's goal for Michael Myers was to make him 'un'relatable.

  • 8 years Reaching : 6 - 14 years old.

    7 years Lock up: 14 - 21.

  • @027220 by 21 he was about 6'5 and weighing in at about 250.

  • @Parkourpurist89 'Hmm.' And with the mask he looks deadly, without it no.

  • @027220 His eyes are pure black. It will suck out your soul

  • @Parkourpurist89 Wrong movie.

  • @027220 Actually I was referring to the speech from the 2007 remake. It was an alright movie

  • @Parkourpurist89 I didn't see that and never will 'cause to me it's like turning on this which I won't do.

  • @027220 I only watched it for the haunting speech. Rob makes great horror movies, but that was just awful

  • @Parkourpurist89 Doesn't hurt his WHite Zombie work.

  • I need to see this movie. That's the most epic understated ramble since Muldoon's "Because we're being hunted... Run... Towards the shed... Clever girl" speech in Jurassic Park. It's all in the accent. Donald Pleasance acted in one of the best Aussie movies ever, and Muldoon was meant to be Aussie, I guess. Aussies can do understated but scary as hell rambles in films well, LOL

  • LEGENDARY WORDS FROM A LEGANDARY MOVIE!!

  • The only video on this site with many thumbs ups and ZERO thumbs down. Incredible.

  • best exposition ever

  • You always feel safe with dr. loomis lol

  • That's how one would describe Dick Cheney.

  • whats that halloween movie when loomis visits michael at sanitarium and tells him you've fooled them michael but not me ???

  • @NeluBalasoiu6982 I think the remake, Halloween (2007).

  • @SamND967 in fact it's on that remake from 1998 , 20 years after , its the halloween 1 extended version

  • @NeluBalasoiu6982,

It's a deleted scene from the original. Don't know why John didn't put tnat in the film. It was very scary. Just the idea of Michael just sitting there, looking out the window, no music, just silence and Loomis saying that line was really cool.

  • @thelupoistheman1 i know i got it.. i think it wasnt really deleted for good from that movie , maybe it was inserted as a bonus in it's dvd

  • the best horror movie ever!!!

  • synnonyms ! .. i mean SIMMONS !!!

  • LOOMIS!

    RIP! Donald!

  • simmons

  • SIMMONS!

  • SIMMONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Simmons!

  • SIMMONSSSSS

  • SIMMONSSSSS

  • Simmonz

  • Anyone who posts "Simmons" is a moron.

  • @janors clearly simmons sent you to the video though

  • @draber12 It's not that people are talking about Bill Simmons, it's that they're posting just "Simmons." A waste.

  • Simmons, Simmons, Simmons!!!

  • I agree with both Roughstar and arodaman. True Michael Myers fans were really disappointed because Rob took the unexplainable and turned it into an analytical child trauma. What a F-up.

  • Rob Zombie can go fuck him self

  • This is great acting which is what the Remakes lack. I mean look at the orginal no rape, little or no gore, no fuck you fuck this fuck that i will skull fuck you, no abuse, no rednecks, no expanation and it is still a very great movie. Rob zombie is not a master of horror Carpenter was. nor the remakes his masterpiece, they are shit.

The orginal had story, character, suspense, horror, and most importanly Micheal Myers.

  • @23Revan84 true that!

  • What made the Loomis character so great and one of the greatest heroes in any movie is you saw how hard he tried to stop Michael. He warned everyone from the doctors to people yet no one could believe or understand what a force Michael was. By the time he aged, he had nothing left to fight with. One of the greatest heroes in movies. The normal man fighting and struggling yet giving everything he had against the unstoppable force that normal human comprehension could never understand.

  • Dr. Loomis ftw!!!

  • Micheal Myers reminds me of Alex from A Clockwork Orange since both Alex and Micheal are just evil satanist no motive they just do it because they enjoy it .

  • I like the moment of Dr Loomis describing just what a Monster Myers is.Donald Pleasence made a career of playing roles like Halloween. They wanted an actor with a British Accent playing a Doctor to give Credibility in the movie.

  • and no more same old thing we've seen before, if you want to remake something, give it small homages and make a completely different movie, new deaths, new characters, no family, just purely evil Michael obsessed with a girl he sees as Judith and Loomis trying to stop him. and if he is obsessed with the girl, and she lives, have him follow her until he gets the job done, if he is obsessed and she lives he will still be obsessed, no need for them to be related, then have a new obsession

  • then he is taken to the asylum, where he meets Loomis. Loomis is unable to make any progress with Michael and realizes how evil he is day by day. then people begin to get hurt and Michael is always there, and Loomis realizes he does not have a sense between life or death and is very dangerous, then he gets his sentencing, not what Loomis wants, and this is where Loomis tries to keep him locked away, but he escapes and kills again, this time he has no sister, its a complete stranger hes after

  • if the movie is remade again, bring back the evil Michael, no human Michael. If you want to give him backround, here is what I would do (don't bash me its just words) Expand on his childhood, to make it appeal to the audience, but this time have him completely normal and start to change, become less talkitive, become more obsessed with Judith, who is not a bitch anymore, have a normal family, and have him begin to act wierd and strange until there is nothing left, and then he kills his obsession

  • rob zombie sucks at making movies

  • @2sholl

lol I love you right now, he is horrible at writing, he must be a person who is always around dirty bad mouthed rapists who love blood. he should definately not write or have anything to do with the creative aspects of a movie except direct if he is gonna make them. the producers should just nod at what he says and do the opposite

  • @2sholl I wouldn't say that he sucks at making movies but I do agree the Halloween movies suck. house of 1000 corpses I heard was good. But he is better at making music.

  • @2sholl YES HE DOES THANK YOU

  • @2sholl agreed

  • I wonder why Donald Pleasence wasn't nominated for his performance in this movie? He was nominated for a Saturn award in "Halloween II", but I think he would have deserved it for John Carpenter's version.

  • Pleasence's Loomis is one of the greatest movie characters of all-time. Even as the series got bad, Pleasence made it worth watching. Now without him, it's not worth seeing any new Halloween movies.

  • @THEZachRastall so true!

  • I don't care what anybody says. Donald Pleasence WAS and WILL always be Dr. Sam Loomis. In the original Halloween, Loomis was not an asshole, but a man who cared and tried to protect Laurie, Jamie and everyone else.

~♥ Rest In Peace Donald Pleasence ♥~

  • Donald Pleasence was an amazing Dr. Loomis now Malcolm has a different approach towards the character still an remarkable film! :D

  • Great movie but they fucked up with some sceens. In Haddonfeild,Illinois on Halloween dont you think the trees would have changed color or atleast fallen off by now? In some sceens the trees are completely green.

  • dude donald pleasence

  • worthy of an oscar.!

  • @MrAntiFarLeft absolutely

  • @MrAntiFarLeft He really did deserve one!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Such an essential character to the Halloween franchise.

  • Agreed...Malcolm McDowell couldn't hold a candle to him...

  • @joeyvader yep, Donald was the man.

  • @silverrhawk true that dude!

  • Fantastic character portrayed by an amazing actor. Dr. Loomis is an iconic character that'll never be forgotten.

    R.I.P Donald

  • Take a look at the three Halloween movies Pleasence isn't in, 'Halloween Resurrection", and the two Zombie movies: those are the worst ones ever! Especially H~Resurrection in 2002 ugh..just horrible. Anyways Donald Pleasence is missed and was an obvious essential to the series.

  • @ryanlesperance777 you are RIGHT!

  • this is why i like halloween they treat Michael myers as a VILLAIN! unlike the other horror movies were there like "hey look at this guy cool some dumbass teenagers."

  • Thanks for posting my favorite part of Halloween. Made the hair on the back of neck stand. John Carpenter is brilliant to show that even Dr. Loomis was scared of Michael Meyers.

  • Fantastic Character....fantastic Description of a killer. Great Friggin movie!!!!!!

  • Dr. Loomis really is the greatest character in Halloween. Pleasence's performance is fantastic for all the films that tried to copy Halloween all of them missed how important Loomis really was as he is the one who makes Myers so scary.

  • @RoughStarFilms You're right. I just watched the Rob Zombie 'remakes' and I was very disappointed.

Pleasence just embodies Loomis entirely and Carpenter just has better sense of what makes a movie make your hairs stand at end.

  • donald pleasence really captured your imagination in this movie, there's a chemistry between him and michael in the original its strange but its there which is something i dont really feel in the rob zombie movies

  • eccentric but he would of been really a fabulous Dumbledore I can think of one more possible role that Donald would of great as now I've seen him play many evil sinister villains and I reckon he would of been sensational as Hannibal Lector that would of been truly amazing him playing an evil twisted menacing deranged and very clever Lector he could of really been great in that role and outshone Anthony Hopkins who was in my opinion really not that convincing Donald however would of been perfect

  • wonderful I can just picture seeing him as Dumbledore he definitely would of been one of my favorite choices and truly far more better than Richard Harris who was too frail and in quite bad health and Michael Gambon who is quite honestly to far too aggressive and hardly ever shows any signs of love and care towards Harry but of course Donald would bring that and make the character seem far more believeable and interesting he could be kind warm caring sympathetic and maybe on occasions slightly

  • Donald Pleasence was a great actor he really was Dr Sam Loomis in my honest opinion no one else I can possibly think off could of played this crazy obsessive character absolutely brilliantly than good old Donald he was bloody marvelous and truly made these films worth watching he died far to early and I believe that if he had managed to stick around for roughly six more years he definitely might of been an exceptional Albus Dumbledore In the Harry Potter movies now who thinks that would of been

  • Dr. Loomis says it all about Myers.

  • Memorable Speech!

Classic original is still the best.

  • Gripping. You felt Loomis' obession with capturing Michael.

  • I agree but do you find any of the sequels inferior to the original?

  • Rob Zombie's are horrible

  • someone please tellme the name of that music in the background

  • Michael Myers is a beast. He doesn't die, and cracked a guys skull with his thumb. Was shot at least 100 times throughout the movies and can still walk.

  • This is the same conversation I had talking about my father in law O_o

  • i love the halloween series its my all time favorite. the first halloween is my favorite movie. when my parents went to go see it when it first opened they said someone kept yelling "our hero" whenever dr.loomis appeared.........im not a fan though of the new ones by rob zombie. i mean ill watch them but its nothing compared to the originals

  • I met him, fifteen years ago. I was told there was nothing left. No reason, no conscience, no understanding.. even the most rudimentary sense of life or death, good or evil, right or wrong. I met this six-year-old child, with this blind, pale, emotionless face.. and the blackest eyes... the Devil's eyes.. I spent eight years trying to reach him, and then another seven trying to keep him locked up for I realized what was living behind that boy's eyes was purely and simply... Evil..

  • yeah we heard him

  • You cant duplicate the OG Dr Loomis.. RIP

  • This entire speech sums up exactly what is wrong with Rob Zombies re imaging of Michael Myers. He didn't have a redneck family, or bullies at school. He had no motive, he was just evil. Halloween 4 was the last good Halloween. After that the series got pathetic.

  • The Halloween 4 Michael Myers could have given Jason Voorhees at his strongest a run for it; I mean, he impales a girl to a wall with a blunt object (a shotgun); crushes a guy's face and tears open another's neck with his bare hands, sends a filling station up in flames; kills at least five cops of Haddonfield PD, depleting the entire force; and to finish off, blacks out all of Haddonfield by throwing that power worker on the transformer. And then there's the punishment he absorbs at the end.

  • What about Rob Zombie's Halloween movies? do you think they are as gory as part 4?

  • Exactly!

  • How do you know that? They never really explained his child hood.

  • Comment removed

  • So? You assume, they are nice..because they looked "Rich" and had a nice house. So, people who have nice homes and who are rich can be trashy and crazy. :P

  • That is why he is so Scary you DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HIM!!! and what his intentions are!! Use your Imagination

  • @arodaman While I agree with the idea that Michael needs no motive, the more modern audience needs something more concrete. A reason for a characters actions. Just saying that Michael is evil is not enough. I always wondered why Michael did what he did, but keeping it a secret adds to the mystery.

  • @PeterBluth

I agree with that. Michael doesn't need an explaination but audiences today like everything to be spelled out for them, which sucks because there is no more suspense, mystery, and all around fear, just gore and always knowing what will happen next. whcih is why classics are so looked up to, not knowing where the killer is or why he kills puts you in the situation a little, and thats what makes it scary.

  • @CDogg9215 Imagination is what we lack, John Carpenter was good at that look at the ending of the Thing. Great ending just left us wondering which one is the thing. Halloween Micheal Myers was a mystery, loomis on the otherhand understood Micheal and keeps telling us that he is evil. These days everyone want it explained with no deep thought or thinking, we are living in the instant now era.

  • @23Revan84

I know right. I hope that since Zombie isn't doing the next Halloween (unless he tries to come back with that whole "I need to complete my vision of Halloween" BS again) we will get the evil Myers that doesn't try and take hostages and who doesn't kill people like some mindless Giant (Jason). I gave it a chance but I like the Michael who was in the shadows stalking his victims, and killed his way to his target, who he wanted to kill in the end, instead of kidnap. The remakes suck.

  • @PeterBluth the one thing that stands out about Michale from all the others is his twisted but silent ways.He and jason are my fav but michael is something that the past needs to be kept secret. And hes immortal

  • @arodaman ]

exactly in the new halloween loomis is a FAG!

  • @arodaman so true couldnt have said it better myself

  • @arodaman 6 was kinda cool in a shut your brain off kinda way... same with 5 i guess. after that i dont really like to watch them

  • @notchjohnson1 I think Halloween 5 was the worst thing to ever happen to the series. So many thing in that movie absolutely sucked. The telepathic connection, the man in black, the Myers house, Rachel killed in the beginning, Tina. And 6 only made 5 worse by expanding into the Curse of thorn garbage.

  • @notchjohnson1 ur rite

  • @arodaman BS halloween 5 blew halloween 4 out thats the best of the series it dwelves more into Michael himself

  • @LordNemesis999 ur entitled to ur opinion but 5 was a mess the myers house looked nothing like the original. Michaels mask was lackluster. the man in the steel toed boots was a waste of time and 5 made the least amount of money out of all the films.

  • @arodaman na h20 was pretty good

  • @arodaman Well true except for Halloween H20. I do agree Rob Zombie's remakes dilude Michael Myer's blank iconic character. He tried to make him more "human" I guess.

  • @arodaman I agree.

That, and this speech is so bone chilling.

  • @arodaman Agreed. Michael Myers is not suppose to be some kid from a redneck family, he's meant to be pure evil disguised as a human.

  • @arodaman Yeah, i totally agree. Myers was meant to never be figured out.

  • @arodaman Dam straight man i couldn't of said it better

  • @arodaman Should have ended at H20.
