i need to ask u guys a question i have samsung lcd tv 32 inch 60hz tv and i heard that if i play blu ray movies on it it will lag alot is that true ? plz help me out somebody
The LG LE5500 doesn't use the full array led local dimming like the 8500 models and above use. It's called LED Plus w/ local dimming. I think it's like Samsung's edge-lit local dimming, which is not as good as it's full array local dimming model also known as the 8500. If you were in a completely black room, the 8500 models from both LG and Samsung would probably look better than your Toshiba. But I like Toshiba as well for value. They are a good company. Nice purchase.
My friend just got this TV (the 42" version) recently for his office.
What I noticed about this TV is that it looks better with bright lights on because then the auto-dimming feature kicks in and the colors/contrast really pop.
We have it hooked up to his PS3 and 360 via Monster M-series HDMI cables.
M1000HD for the PS3, and M2000HD for the 360.
Excellent picture so far, but make sure you turn off Dolby Volume if you want better sound.
Sorry but at least in camera view I can't say the difference is that big. I have a LG LED 3Mil:1 and I can say the difference is huge to my old Samsung Serie3.
Without what you did, with TV side by side the difference would go unnotice. It looks really similar for me.

Yeargh I can see the difference alright...
Just because the Toshiba costs less than the LG doesn't mean that it can't perform well!

@Almaruska My little P&S camera doesn't really capture the difference that well, I'll admit, but you can really see the difference in person.
