  • I have one in Massachusetts for sale....mekjunk@gmail.com

  • that window fan sounds powerful.

  • thats a cool fan. to bad lakewood went under.

  • Damn yo. No wonder I couldn't find a fan like that!

  • Seems the 22" took 350w of power so they cut it down to 170w about with a bit smaller fans. It's as if if you can afford the extra electricity then you suddenly spend a lot more on air conditioning instead ie. big class division gap and lots of mental laziness

  • Where can I buy this one? Mine JUST - I mean JUST died this morning.

  • @mamatude33 Would be hard to find one now. Try asking on the afca or dt forums if anyone has one they would part with. If that fails, there's always the Air King 9166 if you don't mind the price tag.

  • May 11th, 2009 Lakewood Engineering and Mfg. Company closed their doors. Thank walmart for that

  • Is there like a group of people that are relly into fans or something? My son loves them, and I am just wondering if there are a lot of people who do.

  • Yep. You have Dangerous Taco Forums and Antique Fan Collectors Association.

  • that wode be my lakewood air conditition

  • I used to have that same model till it got busted up during a move.... so I bought a new Lakewood window fan in 2003.... 3 speed, electrically reversible, with the thermostat.... but they had gone to cheap ass plastic blades!... it's still working though... i'm using it now actually... I've noticed on their website - they don't even carry a window fan at all now..

  • Lakewood isn't in business anymore.

  • @musiclvr7289 Yea. I don't like the Laskos! It's mostly plastic and the room has to be big or a 2nd window must be opened for proper air flow

  • what's the purpose of the thermostat thingy?

  • I would love to have one of those fan. Very powerful too!

  • Found one in original box Saturday at yard sale. Really moves air.

  • Wish I could find one for sale. I suspect there aren't any hiding on any shelves near Chicago.

  • Nice fan. Thanks for sharing.

  • love it would totally buy one if i didnt have slider windows

  • I have an older 1980's or 1990's lakewood HV-18 freestanding air circulator with original blue samsung motor and bades! Great fan!

  • Cool.

  • Yeah, these are great fans. My aunt had an older model of that fan. She gave it away to her friend who needed it though. It's a really powerful fan. I have the 12" version.

  • Lasko 2518QM on andrewjarmans

  • That start-up sound is really cool, almost sounds like an organ blower or some other really large machine. Even has metal blades, wow! I didn't know Lakewood didn't make a P-25 anymore. I got one at Ace Hardware about 3 or 4 years ago.

  • I love that sound. It's the only fan I have that sounds like that.

  • What's the noise in the background?

  • Neighbors lawn mower. It's loud enough to be heard even though my windows were shut.

  • I thought it might have been an attic fan, b/c I know that there are some attic fans that sound like that lawn mower, believe it or not! ;)

  • cool window fan that's going on my list of fans to find

  • Yours sounds slightly different that mine. My motor is really quite and doesn't really make much noise when getting up to speed. But I like the way yours sounds so much better.

You're right. Lakewood no longer makes any window fans. Not only that, they discontinued the P-25 metal bladed box fan late last year. Glad I bought one of those too (as well as one for my parents.)

  • I want to get a P-25 too, but I'm trying to find somewhere that's reasonably priced.

  • Sweet!! I bought this fan the very last year Lakewood made this model (2003). 1550RPM on high. It sure does move a lot of air. I still have the original box and all.
