Seems the 22" took 350w of power so they cut it down to 170w about with a bit smaller fans. It's as if if you can afford the extra electricity then you suddenly spend a lot more on air conditioning instead ie. big class division gap and lots of mental laziness
@mamatude33 Would be hard to find one now. Try asking on the afca or dt forums if anyone has one they would part with. If that fails, there's always the Air King 9166 if you don't mind the price tag.
Is there like a group of people that are relly into fans or something? My son loves them, and I am just wondering if there are a lot of people who do.
I used to have that same model till it got busted up during a move.... so I bought a new Lakewood window fan in 2003.... 3 speed, electrically reversible, with the thermostat.... but they had gone to cheap ass plastic blades!... it's still working though... i'm using it now actually... I've noticed on their website - they don't even carry a window fan at all now..
Yeah, these are great fans. My aunt had an older model of that fan. She gave it away to her friend who needed it though. It's a really powerful fan. I have the 12" version.
That start-up sound is really cool, almost sounds like an organ blower or some other really large machine. Even has metal blades, wow! I didn't know Lakewood didn't make a P-25 anymore. I got one at Ace Hardware about 3 or 4 years ago.
Yours sounds slightly different that mine. My motor is really quite and doesn't really make much noise when getting up to speed. But I like the way yours sounds so much better.
You're right. Lakewood no longer makes any window fans. Not only that, they discontinued the P-25 metal bladed box fan late last year. Glad I bought one of those too (as well as one for my parents.)
Sweet!! I bought this fan the very last year Lakewood made this model (2003). 1550RPM on high. It sure does move a lot of air. I still have the original box and all.
I have one in Massachusetts for sale....mekjunk@gmail.com

Lakewood isn't in business anymore.

@musiclvr7289 Yea. I don't like the Laskos! It's mostly plastic and the room has to be big or a 2nd window must be opened for proper air flow

what's the purpose of the thermostat thingy?

What's the noise in the background?
vanni9283 3 years ago
Neighbors lawn mower. It's loud enough to be heard even though my windows were shut.
MetalAnchor 3 years ago
I thought it might have been an attic fan, b/c I know that there are some attic fans that sound like that lawn mower, believe it or not! ;)

I want to get a P-25 too, but I'm trying to find somewhere that's reasonably priced.
