Da li znate da Ramba nijedan selektor nije zvao samo zato jer FSS "ne moze" da podrzi troskove prevoza srbija-brazil? to je zvanicna izjava iz FSS.. sramota..

Na minha opinião, depois do zico foi o melhor ''camisa 10'' que o flamengo teve, no campeonato brasileiro (2009) levou o time nas costas em certos momentos (principalmente na ausência do Adriano). Sem falar nas outras passagens como em 2001 naquele Fla X Vas, ''o milagre de Pet''. enfim, pra mim e pra toda Nação Rubro-Negra ele será o eterno ídolo.

He's not very well this year, but we don't care, Pet will have the fans support to play in the First Eleven forever if he wants to, and we will own him forever! He's the best player I saw in Flamengo in my short 18 years, and surely the best after Zico in history, it's too bad Europe couldn't see him, because on his position on the last two decades, only Zidane was as good as he, and I say AS good, not better.
Thanks for the nice words, here in Serbia we also think that it's a huge failure that Petkovic has never played for Serbian national team, not even a single game! They could at least show him respect by having played one (just one) friendly match. Shame on them.
It's very popular joke in Serbia what legendary Zico said when Serbian selector didn't invite Petkovic for World Cup in South Africa: " Serbia will win World Cup. They have 22 players better than Petkovic." :))) Brilliant!!
Yes, he has played 7 games for Yugoslav national team, but not for Serbia, that's not the same. Yugoslavia is ex state, consisted of six nations, separated after the civil war on its own states. Petkovic is Serbian, that's why he wanted so desperately to play at least one game for Serbia, and he deserved more than that, but unfortunately, people from the Football Association of Serbia were not smart enough to show him a respect in that way.
I knew the history but I didnt know people there considered it to make such a difference, I guess it's something we in Brazil will never understand, we have been one country since forever and we have never even been in a large war... I always thought the end of Yuguslavia was much more a political thing that the people barely cared about (as everything is in Brazil)
You are totally right, it's really hard to understand to anyone but us here. Some people cared about all the mess that happened here, some didn't at all, but it was all cooked by politicians, off course. However, we were a great sport nation when we were one state and Serbia still is, considering our population and area.
I would like more than anything to come on next World Cup in Brasil in 2014, cause I wanted to see Rio for a long time and that will be perfect opportunity.
By the way, in case u do not know, Flamengo is going to play a friendly against Red Star in Belgrade in August, with Petkovic playing one half for each team.
I believe it will be in a stadium called Marakana, that, according to Pet, is a tribute to our Maracana (which unfortunately is being rebuilt right now)
Of course I know for that game, I will certainly go to see it. I hope Ronaldinho will come, but I doubt. Famous players usually tend to avoid unnecessary effort, and this is a journey almost at the other end of the world.
Marakana stadium is really assumed the name of yours, original Maracana. It has been rebuilt too, and the entire stadium is covered by seats. They had to do it, cause of UEFA regulations. When all the seats were standing, the record was over 100.000 people.
Cool, about Ronaldinho, he will probably be there, because the plan is for Flamengo to take the First Team, it's another way to show how important Petkovic was for us, considering we will probably have to use the reserves in the Nation Champioship because of that lol :P

Thiago Neves is with the National Team now, so I understand you knowing him, Leo Moura has played in the National Team in the past as well and Williams you will probably know in the near future, he should be moving to Europe soon, where he will probably have huge success (European football should fit his style better than our football).

I remembered Wanderley when he played for Ponte Preta. The point is that I love to bet and I always take a look at the names of scorers at the games that I bet on. That's how I remembered him, although even today I don't know how he looks like. :)

Cruzeiro fans would have good reason to be angry. After all, they won Copa Libertadores twice. They are from Belo Horizonte (I think), not from Rio, Sao Paolo or Porto Alegre, so I forgot on them. :) To make things even more interesting, I think this guy Wanderley even played in Cruzeiro for some time. :)
Wanderley is a target man, so you may know him indeed, it seems unlikely that he player for Cruzeiro though.
I mentioned Cruzeiro and Atlético because together with the 10 teams you mentioned, they are considered "The Big Twelve" of Brazil, having won all but 5 Brazilian Champioships (Atlético Paranaense has 1, Coritiba 1, Guarani 1 and Bahia 2)

Don't mention me Bahia, the only club in Brasil I hate. :) In season 2003/04 (I think), they played 2-2 with Sao Paolo in Sao Paolo, scoring twice in stoppage time (!), and screwed me up for really big money. At that time, Sao Paolo was very strong, they were champions I think, and Bahia struggled to stay in 1. divisiion, as they are always doing. :)

Just checked his wikipedia page and u are right, he played for Ponte Preta in 2006-2008 and Cruzeiro in 2008-2010 (but he was loaned out most of the time here).
About 2003/2004 (actually here a season is just a year, as it starts in January and ends in December), the champions were Cruzeiro (2003) and Santos (2004), Bahia was relegated in 2003 and only came back last year.

He's not very well this year, but we don't care, Pet will have the fans support to play in the First Eleven forever if he wants to, and we will own him forever! He's the best player I saw in Flamengo in my short 18 years, and surely the best after Zico in history, it's too bad Europe couldn't see him, because on his position on the last two decades, only Zidane was as good as he, and I say AS good, not better.

Thanks for the nice words, here in Serbia we also think that it's a huge failure that Petkovic has never played for Serbian national team, not even a single game! They could at least show him respect by having played one (just one) friendly match. Shame on them.
It's very popular joke in Serbia what legendary Zico said when Serbian selector didn't invite Petkovic for World Cup in South Africa: " Serbia will win World Cup. They have 22 players better than Petkovic." :))) Brilliant!!

Yes, he has played 7 games for Yugoslav national team, but not for Serbia, that's not the same. Yugoslavia is ex state, consisted of six nations, separated after the civil war on its own states. Petkovic is Serbian, that's why he wanted so desperately to play at least one game for Serbia, and he deserved more than that, but unfortunately, people from the Football Association of Serbia were not smart enough to show him a respect in that way.

I knew the history but I didnt know people there considered it to make such a difference, I guess it's something we in Brazil will never understand, we have been one country since forever and we have never even been in a large war... I always thought the end of Yuguslavia was much more a political thing that the people barely cared about (as everything is in Brazil)

You are totally right, it's really hard to understand to anyone but us here. Some people cared about all the mess that happened here, some didn't at all, but it was all cooked by politicians, off course. However, we were a great sport nation when we were one state and Serbia still is, considering our population and area.
I would like more than anything to come on next World Cup in Brasil in 2014, cause I wanted to see Rio for a long time and that will be perfect opportunity.

By the way, in case u do not know, Flamengo is going to play a friendly against Red Star in Belgrade in August, with Petkovic playing one half for each team.
I believe it will be in a stadium called Marakana, that, according to Pet, is a tribute to our Maracana (which unfortunately is being rebuilt right now)

Of course I know for that game, I will certainly go to see it. I hope Ronaldinho will come, but I doubt. Famous players usually tend to avoid unnecessary effort, and this is a journey almost at the other end of the world.
Marakana stadium is really assumed the name of yours, original Maracana. It has been rebuilt too, and the entire stadium is covered by seats. They had to do it, cause of UEFA regulations. When all the seats were standing, the record was over 100.000 people.

Cool, about Ronaldinho, he will probably be there, because the plan is for Flamengo to take the First Team, it's another way to show how important Petkovic was for us, considering we will probably have to use the reserves in the Nation Champioship because of that lol :P
At the present moment the First Team is: Felipe; Leo Moura, David Braz, Welinton and Junior Cesar; Williams, Renato Abreu, Bottinnelli and Thiago Neves; Ronaldinho and Wanderley.
So Ronaldinho should be there.

Thiago Neves is with the National Team now, so I understand you knowing him, Leo Moura has played in the National Team in the past as well and Williams you will probably know in the near future, he should be moving to Europe soon, where he will probably have huge success (European football should fit his style better than our football).
I have no idea how you know Wanderley though lol, he was an unknown until this year.
About the game, maybe they will postpone it, no way to know

I remembered Wanderley when he played for Ponte Preta. The point is that I love to bet and I always take a look at the names of scorers at the games that I bet on. That's how I remembered him, although even today I don't know how he looks like. :)
You wouldn't believe, but I know all the teams that play even in Paulista and Carioca Championship, not only the best known as Flamengo, Botafogo, Fluminense, Vasco, Santos, Sao Paolo, Corinthians, Palmeiras, Gremio and Internacional.

Cruzeiro fans would have good reason to be angry. After all, they won Copa Libertadores twice. They are from Belo Horizonte (I think), not from Rio, Sao Paolo or Porto Alegre, so I forgot on them. :) To make things even more interesting, I think this guy Wanderley even played in Cruzeiro for some time. :)

Wanderley is a target man, so you may know him indeed, it seems unlikely that he player for Cruzeiro though.
I mentioned Cruzeiro and Atlético because together with the 10 teams you mentioned, they are considered "The Big Twelve" of Brazil, having won all but 5 Brazilian Champioships (Atlético Paranaense has 1, Coritiba 1, Guarani 1 and Bahia 2)
Bahia could be counted as the 13th "Big", but it depends on opinion

In the times of the great Zico, Atlético was Flamengo's biggest rival, playing against us in some really epic games.
They have more fans and more history than Cruzeiro, but Cruzeiro has been better for a couple decades now.

Don't mention me Bahia, the only club in Brasil I hate. :) In season 2003/04 (I think), they played 2-2 with Sao Paolo in Sao Paolo, scoring twice in stoppage time (!), and screwed me up for really big money. At that time, Sao Paolo was very strong, they were champions I think, and Bahia struggled to stay in 1. divisiion, as they are always doing. :)
Can you get somewhere full name of this Wanderley guy to check his career and clubs? Brasilian names are too long for us in Europe.:)

Just checked his wikipedia page and u are right, he played for Ponte Preta in 2006-2008 and Cruzeiro in 2008-2010 (but he was loaned out most of the time here).
About 2003/2004 (actually here a season is just a year, as it starts in January and ends in December), the champions were Cruzeiro (2003) and Santos (2004), Bahia was relegated in 2003 and only came back last year.

Hes been out of sight and out of mind for far too long to play for serbia.Its hard to include him with krasic stankovic and jovanovic playing so well. 37 or not though he has always had the skill that the kids just dont have today, Like savicevic, jugovic,stojkovic, and mijatovic no speed just technical ability and ball control.The last of the old generation, I would love to see him in a serbia shirt 1 more time! It's a shame that Serbian coach didn't called him in national team. In Serbia all know why, it's all about money and dirty games between football managers who want to sell their players after world cup when price will rise. those 11 shorely are NOT Serbia's best 11 on the field.

Holy shit. I just found out about this player. WHat technique, some of the goals, dribbling and assists in this video are absolutely fantastic.
Such a talented player and he appears to be a legend at Flamengo. Strange how he became such a journeyman but the way he's still going strong at 37 is amazing.
His exclusion from Serbia's national team is bemusing to say the least. He should go to the next World Cup!
