i saw this song on itunes i went...hmm havent heard this one..i listened to it and bought it on the spot! one of my favorite songs by them! i let my friends listen to it and they looked at me like i was crazy. i told them the song grows on you after the 3rd listen, took my ipod back and listened to it again. ahhhhh how i love Rush!
@RushRules4 WHAT A TRAGEDY! I know they have 40 years of material but with the exception of Moving Pictures on the TMT, they still focused on S&A more than any album. I don't want to accuse them of forgetting their history, but I lament I became a fan way too late, and when those respective albums came out they probably had much more focus, case in point, this one here. When will we here Superconductor on tour again? Or anything from GUP, Hold Your Fire, Fly By Night, Test For Echo, RTB again?
@DanZero77 I became a fan with their S&A album I'm 17 now. I love all their material and don't like how their old stuff is left out. I enjoy the concerts because it's Rush and they don't have a bad song. I would like some old stuff that doesn't get played but it is hard for them to play so i understand.
RUSH is simply an amazing band...from a composition/performance stand point: sine qua non & then you have NP's lyrics! i rate him at least equal with any work by the beatles, peter gabriel & elvis costello
They did an awesome job on this tour. This is one of my favorite songs on Presto. My most favorite song on Presto is "Chain Lightning" which isn't on Youtube. I might post it someday.....
My first show was at radio City Music hall in 1983. It blows my mind that I was 13 at the time and that 26 years have passed since that magical introduction to live concerts and a live rush show. I have not missed a tour since.
Unbelievable! While it wasn't my first Rush concert (that would be Permanent Waves in Binghamton, NY), I was also at that Radio City Music Hall "pre-Grace Under Pressure" series of shows. Marillion opened and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen. I was 15 and the memories still resonate.
OH!!!!!! I WAS THERE!!!!!! My first RUSH show.Just happenend to be staying nearby that week. The best part was I had just REALLY gotten into RUSH with the realease of Presto. I Still get goosebumps thinkin' bout it.DAMN what a Great Night!
Rush is coming out with a 2-3 disc DVD package, "Snakes and Arrows Live". They arlways seem to like to throw some Rush video extras on their DVDs. Why not clean up some Presto/Counterparts live material and put it on the discs? They've got some great tapes kicking around out there, I've seen 'em.
Ive always thought the synth part should have had a guitar solo. A simple one. Like a cross between the harmonic part of "The Big Money" solo and "The Pass" solo. Guitar players should know what I mean. Just an opinion.
It sounded so hard rock/crunchy...love it!!

I think it's weird how Rush only played 5 songs off their Presto album then Snakes and Arrows tour they played like 9

I went to a little CD store, never been there or seen anyone go there, found 4 rush CD's Ive been looking for..
2112, Test for Echo, Presto, Counterparts,
I'd have to say Presto was an immediate favorite, along with Test for Echo.
Although, I love all Rush, so its a little bias =)

One of the coolest endings to a live song I've heard by these guys. Neil kills it here. I love this band.

Presto - very underated album, suffered from poor production IMO, great album tho. Didnt get a European tour for Presto either!

"Back in the illusion of the sauna, careful to conceal some ta-ta's--they don't look to real"

LOL! :-) Actual lyric line is: package the illusion of persona / careful to conceal / the fact that she's only too real / she's got to screen it

I know! JUST KIDDIN with ya. That's what I used to think they were saying!

Where can you find the tape/DVD of this concert?
CocaColaKing1 3 years ago 3
Nowhere. They probably have it locked away in the Rush archive vaults, deep below Ontario...Oh well, good performance anyway.

I would kill to get this on DVD. My favorite 'era'/sound of Rush and Presto is my favorite album.
