@ronianpekrul it's about mickey harts dad, who was their manager for a while and ended up stealing alot of money form the band. Then mickey left for band for a few years and came back again.
I saw the grateful dead just about a week or so right after john lennon passed on, the show was in new york long island. Jerry waled up to the mike and said" this next song is for a great guy who just passed away" everyone" thought he was talking about john lennon but he said this is for some unknown guy no one heard of. As a lennon freak and a dead freak i was dissapointed. And that's my memory of this song.
