The title of this song always bugged me. On the album it's listed as Dreamer Deceiver/ Deceiver, when in essence it's one song and should be just called Dreamer (first half) Deceiver ( Heavy part)
it's about metal, and hardrock the lyric is a perfect explanation what Metal really is the feeling, the sound and most of all the soul of the genre... no the lifestyle and besting fucking music in the universe!
one of the greatest rock songs ever this song grabs your imagination and perpetualy holds your attention like a pair of vice grips peace to all metal heads all over the world may the ringing in your ears never stop.latter
1of my favs from way back. i have the original cassettes on ovation records and the picture disc lp. has the record cover on 1 side and some really cool photos which appear to be i guess the inside of the sleeve on the original vinyl actually placed onto the vinyl. so cool.the green manalishi was the 1st song i ever heard from them off the unleashed cassette. hard to beat jp .
rite on its one of their best songs period,i think it might be about death but who the fuck knows my second thought would be that they are tripping balls.but i cant help but think its about your soul somehow. take care,J.P fan
No, those CD's are just a few examples of various older or newer US, UK, Austrian, Canadian, Australian etc pressings with different catalogue numbers, label side printings, backcover designs.
I love the internet because I can see so many other people who love the things I loved when I was a kid. I used to play this all the time at parties and around my friend, but no one ever really liked it. I liked all the early priest but most everyone ells liked newer stuff. This music is just great to me and it's nice to see so many others agree.
[Re: Lyrics] I had thought that the fifth word, first line had been "reaping". While, IMO breathing and breeze are sort of redundant, its nonetheless still one of the best rock vocals ever!
Absolutely love this band! This is my all time favorite favorite Priest tune. If I could only pick one that is. I pretty much love everything they've done, but this is sweet. And yes, Rob has an astonishing range, which complements the rest of the band so well. Can't wait to see the boys in July, with their new opus Nostradamus!
Hey brothers! I bought an LP called "Hero Hero" back in '97, and it was JP's first 2 albums. These two songs were on it as well as Diamonds and Rust, Rock a Rolla, Victim of Changes, and others. It's a *brilliant* album, and it's quite different from other JP material. These two songs are remarkable! The first, DD, is so haunting. Deceiver is also very good with an amazing solo on it. Glenn Tipton is the man! Long live the Priest!
I agree absolutely with you! By the way the second album Sad Wings... is considered generally as the very first heavy metal album. In addition to this, I think they have laid the foundations of all subgenres of metal with this album. In any case, the music history wasn't complete without these JP works. Or as Rob said once, "Judas Priest is the Elvis Presley of heavy metal".
Thank you, Myche! Regarding to your offer, I don't know whether the pic LP you mentioned is missing from my collection as there are many editions, UK, French etc. However, I'm sorry to let you know that as a matter of fact I'm interested already rather in CDs and some other formats instead of extending the number of vinyls or gathering a complete LP collection.

Shame they tainted the legacy with the sellout piece of shit that is "TURBO" rebounded a bit but were never the same
johnnygman7 2 years ago
mmm I guess the original name in UK was killing machine and after in the USA was hell bent for leather.

"Dreamer" goes so deep ,deep and deep...It`s such a lovely song until today. The range of Robs voice and Glenns guitar seems to be weeping.
