  • You are able take a bicycle onto the metro, just not during peak AM and after-work hours. In my experience the metro at Hollywood & Western has worked fine; it just stops running too early at night.

  • If you can't park a bicycle safely and take the rail somewhere this seriously limits the ability of the rail system to be an alternative to cars.

I assume there is no provision to take a bicycle on the train, unless it's one of those hokey folding bikes? (good folding bikes are around $2k, anything less than a grand you might as well have a skateboard)

Here in San Diego the trolley lets 2 bikes on each car, but if it gets more crowded they may ban them. Ride a bike, stay lean and get off oil

  • Here is the problem: as you illustrate, the resources are there on site, but not being deployed properly or performing their duties. LA County Sheriff has jurisdiction for MTA (subway).

This is an important corner and the City and County can make it better with existing resources. Billions were spent on the subway, why wouldn't you want to make this friendly for transit riders, pedestrians, and cyclists?
