It's still there. My parents have a house along the road from it. Complete waste of money and now an eyesore in a beautiful place. The current owner has no money left to do anything with it. Best thing for it is to flatten it and let nature take over.
What a great place to film, post-apocalyptic feel. And they're gonna knock it down, great. The world needs more abandoned interesting places with no real purpose if you ask me. I mean at one point someone must have said, look we're not really using that castle.

My late father was the Project Manager for the construction of this establishment in the seventies.
I worked up there as a member of the Jetty Crew in the summer of 1975.
I am glad that they have now built a marina next door
