I fully accept your argument- it makes common sense. However, most players who don't wear a visor say it's because it restricts their vison. Think about it: they're playing on a giant reflective surface, the glass is reflective, and the arenas are lit by bright lights...they don't need a reflective surface right in front of their faces to further inhibit vision. In my opinion, they should wear metal cages like the ECHL requires...I mean, goalies in the NHL wear them...why not players?

yeah good point about the cage... if a goalie can stop a 105 mile per hour slapshot while looking through a cage then surely a player can keep track of the puck etc.. with a cage on. but i disagree with the restriction of vision caused by visors... i wear one myself like i said and when i play mine doesn't reflect anything or if it does i don't notice a thing. either i'm not playing on shiny enough ice or maybe the new visors are anti reflective or something...

About the plastic visors though, I am friends with one of Craig Conroy's (#24, Calgary Flames) and she said that he said he couldn't see worth s**t while he had one on after an injury...might be because he wasn't used to it, not sure.
