I remember the first time I heard this song years ago in the NIKE RUN app/iTunes, I almost lost it.... DE LA will ALWAYS be one of my fav hip hop groups...
What Posdonous said ( not verbatim of course ) , " quittin ' in this economy is not an option. " And why would De La Soul want to ? After all these years they're too relevant . More MC's like them please ....
I like how De La started out as junior partners in the whole 'Native Tongues' collection. Jungle Brothers were finished before they started. Black Sheep fizzled. A Tribe Called Quest, far and away the most popular, broke up over ten years ago. De La are the last men standing, which is as it should be, because they were always the best. If they would only do another album with Paul, I'd buy a copy for everyone I knew.
@jumpoutatree last men standing aside from the Wu, Cypress Hill, and Cunninlynguists for a start! Haha man have a little more hope in this hip hop. Pete Rock released a album with Smif-n-Wessun a couple months ago and IT--IS--FIYAAAAH! Its called "Monumental". The realness is making a come back man! Course it never realy left. Just took a vacation under the surface....
@LowOpsHipHop I meant last man standing from that whole Native Tongues movement. I still listen to Pete Rock, of course. Didn't catch that Pete Rock and Smif-n-Wessun.
I love de la soul . ive been listening to them since i was 10 years old . i remember their first album 3 feet high and rising came out in 1988. and loved the song pot holes in my lawn. now im 33 years old and i love them still the same when i hear this song. -forever-

originality is a lost art. These brothers have allways did what they felt, despite what their peers have done. I can't believe that niggas consider DeLa irrelevant.
@crome183 consistent, damn straight.staying power like no one else. they never fall off. 2 decades and they are still getting better. the steely dan of rap
de la soul is the shit!! 21 years in the game, never changed their style or sound just to get on the radio.much better than these weak ass kats out now, none of these dudes can fuck wit the de la soul from the soul.
seems like sometimes brother...people are less into elevation and more into nostalgic revelation, we need a new nation based on principles or emancipation, filled with further creation, placin' infratstructure of the mind ahead not behind the silence of the mime, government, rubber-ment, bounce, cement stronger than Troutman with ounce after ounce..
37000 people are listening to this lyrical poetry while 70 million are listening to Bieber and Gaga. there is something very wrong with our planet.

Damn. i skipped this release cos it had a Nike tick on the cover and i assumed it was gonna be some commercial job they'd done.
This is beautiful. Reminds me of the feel that 'Trying People' has to it. De La never disappoint. Most consistent group, bar none.
