  • you know good music is good music; i used to be a music snob back in the day when music was worth being snobby about; now everything is a remake; very few origianls out there. this track rocks plain and simple; trance techno or whatever the hell you want to call it; good music is good music.

  • Agreed! This choon broke barriers and still does! It is a DJ's dream :)

  • Rozi D!?

  • a monster raving fluffy knucle mother funker off a tune my freinds.

  • What a track... I nearly wore the plastic off this when I was fifteen!!!

  • Skank, Aberdeen 1993/4. Small dive of a place in an industrial part of Aberdeen. About 300 people crammed into the place, smoke, drugs...this tune...mayhem!

  • Just play it!

  • We DID speed it up back then... right now, still an amazing tune!!! classic!

  • Ladies, ladies! Why are people so unkind? All of this bickering will get us nowhere. Just listen the the tune again. Perfect.

P.S. Don't ruin it by speeding it up!

  • sorry mate pressed the wrong hand , i agree dont mess with the bpm.

  • Exactly, It's *progressive* house. Not techno. Therefore this tempo is what is was, and always should be.

  • Classic tune

  • Jeeeez guys... its a tune... use it however you want to use it. I think it kicks ass as currently presented... if you want to play it at +8 on 45 (although it would lose some of its obviously nicely engineered crunch in the aspiration for a chipmunky speed rush), feel free...

  • kplus25....you are a twat, always have been always will be.

  • i agree with pistolpete. what a twat. my friend is a dj and this is the speed of the track. besides whixh you can clearly see this on the label. and who cares about frankfurt anyway? this is a british track.

  • i am from frankfurt and i have been Djing since 1992. I play this track at 33 like its supposed to. This is one of the best records of that era...

  • @MarcS4R

    Hi,

This happens to be sitting on my record deck.

"Who cares about Frankfurt anyway", people into elecronic music I suppose...

The speed is 33 1/3 but is marked 33.3 Perhaps to appeal to the international trance scene, while it was still relevant.

  • @Rbrownsword is this trance/just good music....

  • Tja wenn die Wahrheit auf dem Plattenteller liegt, ist alles andere nur kalter Kaffee^^

  • quality track mate.

  • top 5 prog house tune ever period

  • First of all : I digitize the records at pitch Zero, the way and speed they were produced. I dont give a rats ass how some dude on amphetamines played them. Second : Looking at your age i dont think you have even seen the inside of the Dorian Gray back in 1993.

  • Haha, well I suppose you also believe people when they post their age as 98 years old on Youtube, Myspace etc.

I guess I wouldn't have written this message if I didn't know what I was talking about.

I know that the original speed for that record was 33, and maybe I wouldn't have said it's too slow if you had not put the Dorian Gray logo at the beginning of the clip.

In the UK they probably played it at 33, but in Frankfurt I haven't heard one set in 1993 where it was not played at 45 minus 8.

  • how do you know that ALL dj's ply this track at 45 -8? let's look at a simple fact fo djing. you mix the track in at the speed of the track already playing. don't be a muppet.

  • It's funny how people can get so aggressive about the whole thing. All I said is play it faster and people react like I was insulting their religious beliefs. Which it probably is.

Never mind...interesting also how people can say that someone is a twat, always has been and always will be, who they haven't met in real life. Good luck to you, man. But I'm sure someone will come up with another silly explanation for that.

I like to be a muppet. I suppose you'd auditon for the part of Beaker? ;-)

  • Awesome track. I always used to play it faster too. Its all according to taste and the mix youre in. Otherwise there would be no pitch control on those decks!

  • If there was no pitch control on the decks how would you make each record of different bpm in to the same bpm to make them mixable??? DRIBBLER !!

  • @MarcS4R Ja, das " tolle" Dorian Gray ... Ich sage nur " Euphoria" in der "Musichall" FFm ... Freitags, 1993 , und dann das ::: blasted away !! ;-)

  • @MarcS4R LOL - nicely handled.

  • @MarcS4R You tell 'em Marc !!! At the moronic speed they listen to things at in Frankfurt it's clear they haven't slept in 3 days.

  • @MarcS4R so true so true..

  • Your a gent for posting this.....my memories of this from the Orbit in Morley, Sasha at various venues and Ian Ossia......Club Uk.....thanks

  • Great track. Keep in mind it was 1993.
