the responses to this track are so good to see, a total unknown yet one of the most inspiring pieces of music of its time, crowds used to positively bounce under the strobes to this, they and we loved it, knowing delta lady proves you were there
Wow, this was my favourite track of the 90's. Just found it here, been at least16 years since I heard. This propelled me into being a dance music producer...and yes, this is pure sex!!!
incredible track. I don't play it anymore -of course -but it was a killer back then. The top of the top being "Open Up" from Leftfield on the same label...
No need to pitch this track and quite simply a belter, just perfect. A Mark Kavanagh classic in its day. Delta Lady please bring me home.... yeah yeah fucky yeah....
No need to pitch this track and quite simply a belter, just perfect. A Mark Kavanagh classic in its day. Delta Lady please bring me home.... yeah yeah fucky yeah....
It was the best year for Dance music because people were coming over from Punk , Disco and Metal and getting off their tits to fine grooves such as this. All the barriers came down.......
@THEWILLIAMITEBEAR if I remember correctly this is a collaboration with Kris Needs and Leftfield before they became famous and stopped making decent tracks.
Ive never heard this version before, mine has no breakdown in the middle...
Probably THE tune of 93 =) certainly for me anyway
I remember this track featuring on a documentary on rave in around 94 it could have been a BBC Horizon documentary? It also featured a controlled clinical experiment of a guy taking pure MDMA, does anyone remember that and what the program was called?
Great choice Jaldorian. Hard hands , Zoom and Prokult were the best labels around at that time. My best pal made Pilgrimage with Dave from Zoom records **Thumbs up**
Deadly tune! remember dis back in its day, lookin 4 it 4 ages back in da 90's & then 1 day i came across a second hand copy in gud nick by luck in abbey discs...gud aul Billy!!!
you know good music is good music; i used to be a music snob back in the day when music was worth being snobby about; now everything is a remake; very few origianls out there. this track rocks plain and simple; trance techno or whatever the hell you want to call it; good music is good music.
Skank, Aberdeen 1993/4. Small dive of a place in an industrial part of Aberdeen. About 300 people crammed into the place, smoke, drugs...this tune...mayhem!
Jeeeez guys... its a tune... use it however you want to use it. I think it kicks ass as currently presented... if you want to play it at +8 on 45 (although it would lose some of its obviously nicely engineered crunch in the aspiration for a chipmunky speed rush), feel free...
i agree with pistolpete. what a twat. my friend is a dj and this is the speed of the track. besides whixh you can clearly see this on the label. and who cares about frankfurt anyway? this is a british track.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
It's too slow. The record was played by all Frankfurt DJs at 45 minus 8. And it sounds a lot better and more energetic that way. It wouldn't have been a club hit in Frankfurt if played at 33, most tracks played around that time were at 160-180 bpm and clubbers wouldl have fallen asleep if Delta Lady had been played at the originally intended speed. Obviously they only played the B-Side, because the vocal on side A would have sounded silly if played on 45.
First of all : I digitize the records at pitch Zero, the way and speed they were produced. I dont give a rats ass how some dude on amphetamines played them. Second : Looking at your age i dont think you have even seen the inside of the Dorian Gray back in 1993.
Haha, well I suppose you also believe people when they post their age as 98 years old on Youtube, Myspace etc.
I guess I wouldn't have written this message if I didn't know what I was talking about.
I know that the original speed for that record was 33, and maybe I wouldn't have said it's too slow if you had not put the Dorian Gray logo at the beginning of the clip.
In the UK they probably played it at 33, but in Frankfurt I haven't heard one set in 1993 where it was not played at 45 minus 8.
how do you know that ALL dj's ply this track at 45 -8? let's look at a simple fact fo djing. you mix the track in at the speed of the track already playing. don't be a muppet.
It's funny how people can get so aggressive about the whole thing. All I said is play it faster and people react like I was insulting their religious beliefs. Which it probably is.
Never mind...interesting also how people can say that someone is a twat, always has been and always will be, who they haven't met in real life. Good luck to you, man. But I'm sure someone will come up with another silly explanation for that.
I like to be a muppet. I suppose you'd auditon for the part of Beaker? ;-)
Awesome track. I always used to play it faster too. Its all according to taste and the mix youre in. Otherwise there would be no pitch control on those decks!
had a tape of sasha harmony, double pack with digweed bangkok 1993 that was nicked at party..anyone know if i can download this from anywhere..have wanted to hear it again for a decade or more...help!!

Hi,
This happens to be sitting on my record deck.
"Who cares about Frankfurt anyway", people into elecronic music I suppose...
The speed is 33 1/3 but is marked 33.3 Perhaps to appeal to the international trance scene, while it was still relevant.
