  • Great song - Pete was on Acid

  • The best Christmas song!!

  • Merry Christmas to all Who fans!

  • thank you AAAmitD for post all of this!!! xoxo

  • 0 dislikes. As it should be

  • and tommy doesn't know what day it is!

he doesn't know who Jesus was, or what praying is!!!

    how can he be saved??!

    from the eternal grave!!!!! :D

  • @XxDazedandConfusedx1 That my friend is the Real Million Dollar Question! The same could be asked about those who suffer from brain injuries or mental retardation.

  • @WingDiamond lol nice ;D

  • @WingDiamond Remember the tall stranger in Amazing Journey? I think Tommy's probably encountering God in ways that us "normal" people never could. "Sickness will surely take the mind where minds can't usually go."

  • someone should post this entire album in one video(along with quadrophenia)

  • @grevejp44 I just made it a playlist

  • @BlogSnob not the same though cause you get advertisments sometimes between each video as oppose to the one video where you get only one ad at the beginning. thanks though.

  • @grevejp44 theres a 1989 live one with Phil Collins(Uncle Ernie), Steve Winwood(The Preacher), Elton John(The Champ), Billy Idol(Cousin Kevin), and some random female singer that i dont now as the Acid Queen

  • @iamobeliskquake - the Acid Queen - Tina Turner

  • @Ctrix1 she was in the movie but not the 1989 live version. it was Patti LaBelle

  • Perhaps the only YouTube entry liked more than disliked by a factor of, oh, say...INFINITY!!

  • great song from the best play i have ever seen

  • @1marcgo If you think the play's good, you should hear the ferkin' album! Then you should seek out video of The Who actually performing it. You ears will unscrew of their own accord and drop on the ground.

  • One Word; 'Melodic" - 'nother word ; "Brilliant"

    the who = Rock

  • How is it possible that there's all this sh*t in the radio, but the awesome music of the Who wasn't heard since years? something's wrong with most people. THE WHO RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @dertitanful Amen to that.

  • This and Go To The Mirror are some of my favourite Who songs

  • "How can he be saaaaaved....from the Eternal graaaaaave"

You could sing that about ALL of us...

BEST SONG ON THE WHOLE ALBUM!

  • Anybody know the chords to this?

  • @koyunbaba73 G D in the verse G A D in the chorus that finally goes in C G D C D A for the part "tommy can you hear me" and "see me feel me" it's a little more complex, but I think it's in a Eb key

  • @koyunbaba73 I do but it won't let me post them....email me

  • Merry Christmas ya bastards!

  • Best Christmas song ever.

  • i love this song so much, but now, it is so powerful today, i cant put in all inside of me

  • My favorite christmas song, but I never hear it on the radio.

  • i own this recored in vynal babay yayay

  • goblegoblegoblegoblegoblegoblegoblegoblegoblegoblegoblegoblegoblegoble lol this is a thanksgiving song!

  • Keith Moon's drumming is so awsome !! So organized yet hard to follow, masterfull cymbal work !!

  • The story of the album is so dark....but the music is so fun. I love Tommy.

  • @CoastersForever Christ, talking about a dark story try listening to Pink Floyds "The Wall", and then tell me if you love "Pink".

  • @DaveS12382 I actually: 1. Heard the Wall before I heard Tommy. 2. Like the Wall more then Tommy. 3. Think the Wall is tied with DSOTM as my favorite album 4. Place Pink Floyd as my favorite band 5. Think The Who, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Boston, Rolling Stones, AC/DC, etc are all fantastic in their own right.

  • @CoastersForever I have to agree with you on every single statement you made in that comment.

  • @DaveS12382 pink is just a douche who dosen't realize how good he had it. Tommy overcame extraordinary circumstances and became pinball champion.

  • @patman2492 No love for Pink? not exactly the most sympathetic character is he? A rockstar with mental issues who goes completely fucking crazy.

  • @DaveS12382 i like the movie and album. thats something right?

  • @patman2492 Yes, definitely. You should try to catch Roger Waters performing The Wall live in concert. Great show. Saw him Oct 3rd in Boston.

  • @patman2492 which did you like first? lol

  • why do i feel so sad when this song play

    damm you little tommy

  • is roger singin tommy can you hear me cuz it sorta sounds different

  • @Misternoname100 it's Pete singing that line. ;)

  • best background vocals ever...

  • @gangstalee713 I know, right? Especially the "Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!" as if giving a sense of merriment to Tommy's surroundings, and yett tommy is probably blankly staring at the wall, despite everyone being happy around him. :)

  • @beatles123 I always thought of the ha-ha-ha-ha's as cynical laughing AT the children, at the childish illusion that parcels could fall for free from Heaven. Added a very poignant edge to the song for me.

  • @notanotheraccount Well, if one were to use the movie as interpretation, Tommy would be completely devoid of emotion to the whole thing...but you're right. Combined with the theme of the album being that people are ignorant and cannot trust more than what they see, feel and hear, it's quite possible the album is trying to convey that there are things we just don't understand and try to judge without an open mind, such as even small things like what you mentioned.

  • And Tommy doesn't know what day it is.

He doesn't know who Jesus was or what praying is.

    How can he be saved?

    From the eternal grave.

    great chorus

this is the 2nd best album from

    (their masterpiece is Who´s Next)

(i´m not saying nothing against this beautiful album)

  • @abdulalfarzed I'd dare to say their greatest work was Quadrophenia, but it's The Who, everything they did was great.

  • @bwc3821 Oh yeah...Quadrophenia is the great underexposed masterpiece. Though there's something about the Tommy musical themes that makes them easier to listen to over and over again. Like not quite as "high art" but a lot more danceable.

  • @THEwilliamcheek They're both great. Comparing Tommy to Quadrophenia is like comparing Beethoven's music to Mozart's.

  • @c0mf0rta61ynum6 speaking of which Tommy and Quadrophenia can be compared to classical works

  • @abdulalfarzed so...have you not heard Quadrophenia?

  • love that scream Daltrey does

  • (8) HOOOOOW CAAAAAN HEEEEE BEEEE SAAAAAAVED??? (8)

  • I love Moonie's fills on this tune, brilliant!

  • before the winters suns ignited...

  • @wilhoitsux Genius line

  • So many great melodies on this album, and overlooked songs like this and Sally Simpson. From '69 through the early 70s Pete Townshend's genius was incomparable.

  • you are correct sir

  • @andyboerger totaly agree and after this he wrote who's next and quadrophenia unbelivable

  • TOMMY CAN YOU HEAARR ME???!

    masterpiece!

  • FUUUUUUUUUUUCK YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

  • Merry Christmas Everyone!

  • happy christmas!

  • like all fahters , yelling tommy can you hear me? and if tommy hears then mom will surly try to kill it

  • inorite

  • I love this song. =D
