@MrMegaFredzeppelin AWESOME ALBUM!!!! I had thought about making a playlist out of it but never got around to it. Maybe I'll do it today lol. You posted your comment while I was preparing to post this as a bulletin. You are on top of your game today BRO!!! You always are!!!
@XxDazedandConfusedx1 That my friend is the Real Million Dollar Question! The same could be asked about those who suffer from brain injuries or mental retardation.
@WingDiamond Remember the tall stranger in Amazing Journey? I think Tommy's probably encountering God in ways that us "normal" people never could. "Sickness will surely take the mind where minds can't usually go."
@BlogSnob not the same though cause you get advertisments sometimes between each video as oppose to the one video where you get only one ad at the beginning. thanks though.
@grevejp44 theres a 1989 live one with Phil Collins(Uncle Ernie), Steve Winwood(The Preacher), Elton John(The Champ), Billy Idol(Cousin Kevin), and some random female singer that i dont now as the Acid Queen
@1marcgo If you think the play's good, you should hear the ferkin' album! Then you should seek out video of The Who actually performing it. You ears will unscrew of their own accord and drop on the ground.
How is it possible that there's all this sh*t in the radio, but the awesome music of the Who wasn't heard since years? something's wrong with most people. THE WHO RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@koyunbaba73 G D in the verse G A D in the chorus that finally goes in C G D C D A for the part "tommy can you hear me" and "see me feel me" it's a little more complex, but I think it's in a Eb key
@DaveS12382 I actually: 1. Heard the Wall before I heard Tommy. 2. Like the Wall more then Tommy. 3. Think the Wall is tied with DSOTM as my favorite album 4. Place Pink Floyd as my favorite band 5. Think The Who, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Boston, Rolling Stones, AC/DC, etc are all fantastic in their own right.
@gangstalee713 I know, right? Especially the "Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!" as if giving a sense of merriment to Tommy's surroundings, and yett tommy is probably blankly staring at the wall, despite everyone being happy around him. :)
@beatles123 I always thought of the ha-ha-ha-ha's as cynical laughing AT the children, at the childish illusion that parcels could fall for free from Heaven. Added a very poignant edge to the song for me.
@notanotheraccount Well, if one were to use the movie as interpretation, Tommy would be completely devoid of emotion to the whole thing...but you're right. Combined with the theme of the album being that people are ignorant and cannot trust more than what they see, feel and hear, it's quite possible the album is trying to convey that there are things we just don't understand and try to judge without an open mind, such as even small things like what you mentioned.
@bwc3821 Oh yeah...Quadrophenia is the great underexposed masterpiece. Though there's something about the Tommy musical themes that makes them easier to listen to over and over again. Like not quite as "high art" but a lot more danceable.
So many great melodies on this album, and overlooked songs like this and Sally Simpson. From '69 through the early 70s Pete Townshend's genius was incomparable.

@CoastersForever Christ, talking about a dark story try listening to Pink Floyds "The Wall", and then tell me if you love "Pink".

@DaveS12382 pink is just a douche who dosen't realize how good he had it. Tommy overcame extraordinary circumstances and became pinball champion.
patman2492 1 year ago
@patman2492 No love for Pink? not exactly the most sympathetic character is he? A rockstar with mental issues who goes completely fucking crazy.

@abdulalfarzed I'd dare to say their greatest work was Quadrophenia, but it's The Who, everything they did was great.
