There should be no 2D static graphic novel type images on the PS3. It's laziness. The PS3 is more than capable of producing amazing cel shaded visuals. The Evangelion Misato News application for PS3 is proof of it. Even Idolm@ster for PSP does it well.

Sorry, there haven't been many games that have surpassed visual novel style mediums as a vehicle for story telling.

graphics arent everything but combined with good gameplay and good story it all blends together like a well bui;t car. It's like saying a cr body design isnt everything, but it certainly is important in terms of ergonomics and performance. As well as the engine and the suspension.

And a visual novel will always be inferior to a book, game and movie. It seriously the worst out of the mediums. Might as well have a pop up book.

Shenmue had a great story for example.

Maybe a book, but a movie or game for a story telling medium? Give me a break. There's a reason why movie and game adaptations of books always blow chunks. You can't put as much content into a visual medium compared to a text medium for the same budget.

Just because the PS3's capable of celshaded graphics doesn't mean the devs have to utilize it nor do they necessarily have the budget to do so. If you don't like it, then don't buy it. Big budget rpg != good game. SO4 is a prime example.

I havent played SO4 cause i dont have 360 so I cant comment on those but like said Shenmue has a great story. Also the Yakuza games.

If you're trying to tell me VN is better than the best VG, movie or TV series or mini series you're out of your mind.

I think the anime Gintama episode 99's spoof on VN clearly showed how retarded most of them are

Shenmue's story was decent, granted better than most games nowadays, but the detail and the quality doesn't compare to a lot of VN type games when it comes to story telling.

If you enjoy your 3D games then so be it. Come back when you've found a game this generation, or last, that's surpassed story telling quality of Venus & Braves or even this game, then we'll talk.

cuz 2d are easier to create and in short less money to make a game in 2D while in 3-D is the other way around cuz 3d is just too complicated you gotta make it perfect like no fucked up colors or something like that and also it takes more time and money.

uuhh??? yeah but, what im saying is it's easier to make games in 2d but i didnt mention any about RAM. what im trying to say is 3-D games takes a lot of time because it has to be fully detailed even if it's only cell-shaded, game developers need to make sure that it looks fine with no fuck up color or whatsoever, also it also costs them alot since their gonna be working on it for a long time and some companies can't afford a certain amount of paychecks for the employees for a couple of months.

the ps3 version by me it will follow the anime not the PC game in my opinion so far the anime and the pc game is the same im at ep 4 at the anime and im 2 hours in the pc game mostly is the same ^^

Doubt it'll get released in the US due to obscenity issues. It's not as bad as Agarest Senki, but it's definitely more racy than Ar Tonelico (sans Jakuri's bathing suit)

The reason you're not seeing them is probably due to lack of financial feasibility. TtT is already niche in Japan and unlike Cross Edge, despite seeing similar sales figures, is a new IP so...i'm sure you can connect the dots from there :P

Ogam looks like he kicks much more ass in this version. I hope they cut out some of the extremely long cutscenes, like the one after hatching the baby dragon. If I didn't use the skip function I'm guessing it would've taken about 40 minutes. Thanks to where I live, I can get this game for about an extra $10 at a local store after about 2 weeks after it's released. ^^

Man the PC ver. of this game is nothing in comparison with this 1. I feel rather annoyed that the PC ver. looks like something out of a PS.

After 3 years they totally redid the game and now its something totally worth playing by the looks of it.

I think some of the companies are scared to even attempt to handle that type of power lol.
