not really an option..they basicly send you if they need you like for instance if a war breaks out they would send in reserves and active in but later the reserves pull out

Well I'm Canadian so its a bit of a different system. We basically have complete choice to go or not, unless there's a draft. My best friend is a Reservist doing officer training right now to become a Master Corporal while my brother is Reg Force as a Master Bombardier which is the Artillery version of a Master Corporal, so I kinda know both sides of the Canadian Forces. And they both advised me to start in the Reserves, if I like it after a couple years, then transfer to Reg Force.
