what jump started work outs for me was I went to the gym to try zumba. i open the door and see some old as ladies trying to shake their asses and stuff and i was like "hell no". But i just got their and i told myself "I'm here, might as well do something".. so I just got on the treadmill. now i go 3-4 times a week and aim to burn about 400-500 calories. the best part is that it only takes an hour of time for me. and it goes by kinda fast if you don't look at the clock.
Just start out with walking around the neighborhood everyday. Don't even have to exercise now until you get in the habit of walking & then you will see that you will want to walk everyday because you want to & eventually, your mind will be like "I have to walk cause I love how I feel after." At the same time, don't smoke, like you are, & eat the usual three meals & eat healthy. Seriously, when I was losing weight, I learned that baby steps are the best way to go. So, GO DO IT THE FRIGGIN HELL!!
I"m forcing you the hell to get up and take a damn walk every damn day until your not lazy enough to take a damn jog! I'm punching you right about....now! Anyway much love and dont get frustrated it only makes your eating habits worse! your doing great, take small steps at a time!
I completely agree with what you are saying. We may know you all from the videos that we watch but it is important for everyone to remember that there is more to a person then a 3 or 4 min vid. It is unfair of us to assume that we know you all. I enjoy your video and they inspire me to eat healthier. We all have our own personal struggles and allowing us to have this personal glimpse into your lives is really brave. - Love to you all!
you are dancing...right..you are walking around right? you are not a lazy ass person...you are out and about. that is exercising. so to hell to anything else. you are NOT a fail
i know what you mean about the "pathological" aspect of losing weight. i am doing the same thing. but with the "superficial" aspects of changing what we eat, it is making us become more aware. at first it is conscious, but i think with time it will become unconscious. natural, or a habit. i guess until then, we all need patience. i really love watching your videos. they keep me going on losing weight! keep up your hard work and persistence!
Actually, I have a fear of scales, too. It's really weird. It's like I HATE them. So, I feel you on that. I also understand and feel you on everything on this video. You're going to do fine, Honey. As long as you're happy. For exercise? I'd say just walk, walk, and walk more. Even if it's in the mall. lol. Just walk. Adios, Justine, take care!
Yeah... kick in the ass, like everyone else down there.
Make small changes to your schedule. Dont go all out and shit, and try to plan things deliberately, because thats where you start to fuck up and feel like you HAVE to do it, no matter what, and dont end up doing it for some reason or another. Maybe youve heard this a lot or something, but just, take oppertunities to do some walking or something if it comes up. If theres the possibility of walking somewhere or doing activities, take it.
J/K ...you have to many fun distractions right now, but once everything get's back to normal you'll get back on track and won't needs anymore kicks to the booty : P
85% of the work is before/after a workout (nutrition). I would suggest you join a Curves, if there is one near you, for starters. Then you are in/out in 30 mins and you have others you can be accountable to and them you. It's really powerful. More than two drinks of alcohol will sabotage/neg effect your efforts...how do I know this?
I know how painful and boring exercising can be. Ive had that problem but you just have to find a piece of equipment that doesnt hurt and istn boring. For example, I refuse to use the treadmill. If I really wanted to walk, I would rather go outside. The elipticle is fun and so is the exercise machine. Now go do it Justine! lol
Its hard to lose weight cause it was so easy to put it all on...basically the secret is to cut calories...working out helps but you have to watch your food intake...when i party i always try to do mixed drinks with fruit cause it makes me feel like im TRYING to be good! lol but still you just seem so sad about this, but really it can be fun...but i am right there with you its hard and i need a kick in the ass
For working out, I really recommend walking. I've been doing a lot of it the past few weeks - just putting on my iPod and wandering around for a few hours. It's so easy to burn like 400 calories without really trying.
LOL it's okay, I guess that didn't come off jokey! I meant it to! Stupid internet with lack of tone. And anyway, I will PROBABLY miss my video next week since I'm going to the beach and IDK if there will be wifi where we're staying! :) No worries for real, I think it's been hard keeping up with MAKING a video every week, even if I've been decent at health/weight stuff. I stopped giving a crap what I look like (obviously) in favor of getting one up at all. busy busy busy like a very tall bee.
I totally understand. I just wanted to say that it is nice if somebody is really commited to something, although everybody needs and deserves a rest.
I really like this channel and it is kind of sad that most of the girls are missing out on doing their videos. But that's probably just because it's summer and I'm sure they'll all get back into track once it's over and everybody returns from their holidays. :)
If you want, I can walk with out at night. Well...like-you know, around the time the sun goes down so it isn't hot out. We can walk around the block. Gotta start somewhere :-)
I read in a magazine once that if you at least get yourself in your work out clothes, then hopefully you should have more motivation to actually hit the gym(or whatever you plan to do) since you're already prepared to and took the time to change clothes. It's weird but it's actually helped me a couple times.
o i feel you. there's no point trying to change your intake/output and the way you go about all of it unless you've changed your entire outlook on the thing. otherwise it's a big freaking waste of time and you'll end up where you started. easier said than done. sighh.
mm well I'm the worse person to say go to the gym , I can't keep my promise to go my self.. I fail really badly .. What I can its quit junk food :D .. that's being helpful for me, so don't stop keep it up :D
the best way to force yourself to hit the gym, is if you have a buddy to keep you on track at the gym. i go with my neighbor, we're there for about an hour and a half and it's easy because we can make sure the other one isn't slacking. go to the gym, with a friend.

BUT the satisfaction at the end of the day staying in range is way better than some damn doritos. i guess.
Just Go and Do! When you excersize, it releases a happy drug that's free and has benefits and no side effects! Plus it's free! And after, you can wash your body with some expensive ass products and feel girly as hell! xoxo
You can do it Justine! Find modivation from your friends even-maybe you could have work out buddies. It's much more difficult to go through a journey alone. It may be easier if you go through exercise with friends. Good luck! You can do it-- we're always here supporting you!
You can do this! I was taught that weight loss involves a change in lifestyle. Temporary changes=temporary results. Lifestyle changes=lifelong results. When you are partying, dance! That burns calories. "Move More" is what they say. Just keep your head up :)

I hate scales too. I think I lost weight and feel good about myself and then .....the scale. I find out I weight more. I just stay away from them.

Your not alone with scales! I am a huge fear of them...they can so screw up your mindset!

I do understand about being afraid to get on the scale. The reason behind that is because we are afraid we have gained weight.
