  • This is crazy! Really? OMG they totally coped from Austin Powers wen they made this. LOL! Like, didn't they get sued for this?

  • @milkenobi I think you got that backwards! Considering the first Austin Powers came out in 1997 and "You Only Live Twice" came out in 1967! Soo Austin Powers accually copied James Bond Films!

  • @milkenobi *biggest facepalm EVER*

  • He looks like Dr. Evil

  • @BeLeeve Blofield was the inspiration for Dr. Evil

  • i wanted to see how blofeld looked in from russia with love and thunderball whoever that actor was he was a very good blofeld.

  • It seems hard to please Donald Pleasence.

  • Best Blofeld of them all. And Bond being alive is making Mr. Bigglesworth upset, and when Mr. Bigglesworth gets upset, people die!

  • Kill Bond! Now!

  • wow total rip off of doctor evil. down to the cat.

  • @screeem you have great observation skillz

  • @screeem just because you have seen the austin powers movies first that does not mean that those movies came out first. dr. evil ripped off blofeld even though it's supposed to be a joke

  • Ernst scared the crap out of me as a kid when i first saw this movie... now all i can see is Dr. Evil discussing his childhood

  • Dr. Loomis....Dr. Evil .........wait nvm :/

  • What I love about this Blofeld is how different his reveal is to proceeding Bond films. He has a deep voice booming voice while his face is hidden and his reveal is so, ordinary. He doesn't swerve around with booming music, or mwa-ha-ha-ha, he just introduces himself. He might as well have said: Hi, How are doing today, Mr Bond? He the complete opposite of any villain you may think of in terms of mannerisms.

  • Blofeld was giving the henchman head

  • That's a good print.

  • ...and so what would you consider to be the "best" Bond film..."of all time"?

  • wow bond has second liffe

  • IT'S DR. EVIL!!!

  • The worst part of this clip is 0:37

  • This is one of my favorite scenes ever. Epic quote too. "You only ive twice Mr. Bond..."

  • I have the same persian cat at home and every time she sits on my chest i feel like an Bond villian too

  • @XellDincht I get the same feeling, we even have what i like to call "The Blofeld Chair" :D

  • Pleasence exuded an understated brutality that fit the Blofeld character perfectly. Savalas was also good but didn't quite master the subtlties that Pleasence was able to imbue into the character.

  • this fucking clown killed the charachter for future films.

  • @RidgeForrester lol what?

  • This is the first Bond movie I've ever seen and the moment mysterious villain revealed himself has always been one of my favourite ones. Donald Pleasence did a great job as Blofeld. Notice how he doesn't blink his eyes in this scene. Creepy.

  • I have to just say it: Goldfinger was an overrated villain. All he is famous for is the laser scene and that line. Blofeld hurt Bond, I mean he actually hurt him worst than any other villain by killing Bond's wife.

  • Why did the cat have to die :(

  • @Drakozap Well the film was made in 1967, so even with good care and nutrition that cat would not be alive in 2011.

  • @SirRetku

No I think he died in the movie ( the character )

  • @Drakozap Because it was really a cunt.

  • "You only live twice, Mr. Bond."

    Epic

  • Ripped off Dr Evil.

  • @maxwall7755 This is where the concept for Dr. Evil came from

  • @LullabyForChaos thank you captain obvious! :D(relax, just joking)

  • WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

    wonderful

  • My ex mother in law would have made a great Bond villian

  • Plesance's Blofeld was by far the best in my opinion.

  • Best Bond Scene ever!

  • i think they should bring back Blofeld for the new movies, but keep his dr evil look

  • A great villain. Too bad the character of Blofeld was ruined in Diamonds are Forever.

  • @LightStijn Pleasance was a terrible Blofeld.

  • I love Blofeld but my favorite incarnation is the unseen Blofeld in FRWL and Thunderball. IMO, Donald P. (too small and too bratty), Telly S. (too gangster-like) and Charles G. (too everything) were all miscast. Blofeld should be a brilliant criminal mastermind, sociopathic but calm/calculating and also menacing/powerful enough to pose a physical threat to Bond. If Adolfo Celi hadn't already played Largo, he would have been a good choice. Christopher Lee would also have been a good choice.

  • @jksonny

My favourite Blofelds would have been James Mason or Peter Cushing.

However- I also think that Ciaran Hinds could do a great job!

  • @luciuslars Hinds would a great choice!

  • An iconic momment for sure!

  • Sounds like he has a Swedish accent, but I guess it's because it's very similar to other countries. What country was Blofeld from again?

  • @Mrster Well, in the novels, Blofeld is supposed to be half Polish half Greek.

  • @Mrster

He is the son of a polish (maybe german) father and a greek mother.

  • Hey Bond Fans check out my channel for my Bond animation! With all the bonds!

  • Bond plays Second Life.

  • Charles Gray - Best Blofeld

  • He is still so terrifying! He scared me half to death when I was a kid.

  • Donald Pleasance's monotone delivery reminds me of Hannibal Lecter. Donald Pleasance, another brilliant actor who excels in sinister roles.

  • Brilliant performance. I never understood why Donald Pleasence wasnt asked to play Blofeld again in OHMSS and DAF. Why bother recasting such an excellent portayal?

  • I can't tell you why Pleasance was not asked to return for Majesty's or DAF; he may have been asked in fact. But from what I've observed when actors are asked to reprise a role particularly in a successful play or motion picture, they themselves or their agents almost always ask for more money and the producers almost always say....no. LOL!

  • @sexyblondeuk2012 Charles Gray was English and made him more sophisticated. Telly Savalas was an American but in all honesty resembled the book Blofeld best and pulled off the brute nature of Blofeld. Donald Pleasance was also English but he made Blofeld sinister. All and all they each brought something great to the character. Personally I don't want him brought back as I don't know who could pull him off well enough and add something new to the table.

  • @IronicSoul999 Thanks for the comment. My favorite two out of the three actors who were cast as Blofeld are Donald Pleasance and Telly Savalas.

Speaking of Telly Savalas, I read somewhere that Savalas was paid more to appear

as Blofeld than George Lazenby was played to star as Bond! Lol.

  • @IronicSoul999 --- I have to agree with your comments concerning Savalas as Blofeld. I always enjoyed how he delivered his dialogue to Lazenby in OHMSS. As to who could play Blofeld today, it'd be interesting to locate an unknown (or relative unknown) who could bring a sort of sinister charm to the big screen.

  • @sexyblondeuk2012

Pleasance wasn't asked back because in OHMSS, Blofeld had to fight Bond in the end and Pleasance just wasn't physically intimidating enough.

  • @Baldenlong77 Had never thought of that! Excellent observation!

  • TELLY SAVALAS! Best Blofeld!

  • i couldnt agree more! he was by far the best in my opinion

  • he was way too american for the part, and wasnt scary or intimidating at all. Donald Pleasance was much better.

  • @sexyblondeuk2012 Savalas was good but to me no one can beat the great Donald Pleasence

  • @sexyblondeuk2012 too bad the movie he was in was complete shit

  • @sexyblondeuk2012 too bad his movie was complete shit

  • I thought you wren't supposed to see blowfeld's face why did they let us see his face?

  • because it was time to see it~!

  • Donald Pleasence was the best Blofeld. He should have continued his role. Savalas wasnt bad at all but he didnt fit the role as good as Pleasence.

I think Charles Gray was laughable as Blofeld. He didnt fit the role at all.

  • You are totally right.

Savalas was certainly eveil, but not to the extent of Pleasence. Charles Gray is an excellent actor, but was too English and too camp for Blofeld - and he had hair!!! They shoudl have just had Pleasence as Blofeld in all three films...

  • @lelvish1 Imagine, how much different OHMSS and DAF would have been with Pleasence in this role.

  • Blofeld was always a disappointment. IMO, Savalas was the best but even he seemed too gangster-ish for Blofeld.

  • fare more deadly then dr evil

  • EVIL!

  • AWESOME!
