Yes, it may seem cruel and abuse to these kids but success always comes with a price. It's never handed to you. You must be able to endure the physical, mental and emotional pain to appreciate the success. Not all these kids will succeed but not all of them will fail. No one really knows who'll actually make it and who won't. Maybe China, Russia and Romania are going too hard on these kids but hey, there's a reason why they're the top succeeding countries in the world when it comes to gymnastics

They also have incredible folk dancers, cause the training is just as tough as this.

It's the same in Russia. They have the best ballet dancers in the planet, but they spent all their lives training for endless hours and the training is also cruel.

I do dance and the teacher does similar things. You can't see it here, but they do encourage you and give possitive messages and support. They want you to succed.

I understand that if kids want to become the best, they have to suffer training like this. That is okay, as long as the teacher is encouraging them and isn't abusing them. @gymfairy554 Gymnastics involves a lot of pain, and even non-serious gymnasts cry every once in a while because something hurts, but that's how you learn. I'm not saying I agree with the training the chinese gymnasts go through, just that sometimes pain = tears. and different people have different pain toleration.

As an ex gymnast and gymnastics coach in the united states, I feel like many of the clips shown are typical practices for this sport universally. Yes it seems extreme, but that's what the sport is about. What they allow in China is much more intense from a young age, but that isn't shown in these clips at all.

for themselves. So without their legal guardians agreement they can't do
