I got to the stage of going on services program, when i clicked start of Windows Modules Installe. i get a error message of - windows could ot start the windows modules installer service on local computer. Error 126: the specified module could not be found.

Change the heximal to decimal trough right clicking on it, save, apply, restart comp. go to services and find windows module installer, put it on auto and aswell start the service and ur done.

to my surprise this did actually work, I had error 1935 and was gonna install vegas movie stuido pro 9 but it didnt allow me becuse it couldnt install the visual packages 2005 and 2008. Also I will post this in the other video when u make the registryfix.reg file and nothing happens when u double click it u just drag it into the place where it should be, in the registry folder as explained above.

@InsaneAnnya Some of your system files are missing. To fix it, repair or reinstall Windows.

The error126 error message can also be caused by problems with the registry or viruses. Thats why its so important to run a registry and virus scan of your entire computer on a regular basis.

Ok tell me first! Programs are not working or you did have some trouble to install them? If programs are not working, change to windows XP compatibility mode. If the problem is to install game or program (installation just hangs up, some error messages during installation etc...) then this video shows how to fix the problem once for all!

@pifko6 Well the problem is the first one. You recommend switching to windows XP compatibility mode. Do you have a video that explains how to do that, because I've been wanting to use Windows XP in general. I hate using windows 7.

Well I spent one month to find a solution for this problem, which occured day after I installed Win7. So to spare others fom pain taking, almost a futile search on the Internet to find solution, I decided to upload a video on Youtube how to fix the problem with Installer and Windows Update. As you can see the problem was in the registry. So now my Win7 works perfectly! Let me know if it did worked on your computer too. I need feedback to investigate a little more just in case ...

It worked perfectly! It was just what I needed. I have windows 7 32-bit, and 2 days ago (two months after installing windows) i wanted to install sql server 2008 and it didn't work (no error message either - just hanging). i tried to install visual studio 2008 - the same thing, the install just hang at the beginning. i tried to update windows - it downloaded the updates but didn't install them. no solution on the official microsoft site. but after following the steps in this video now it's OK!

It is for Vista too, But creating the registry entry is for Windows 7, because I know only how to create for win7, in Vista I do not know source code to type in registry to create one in registry in Vista. The rest of procedure is the same.

I just found out that Vista uses the same version of REGEDIT, so the source code for creating registry entry applays for Vista too. You may notice in regedit help in Vista that it says that version of REGEDIT is 6.00. But actally is 5.00. Strange but true.
