  • Thanks for posting this. I too have the forty-five, it's one of the first songs I heard on WVON out of Chicago.

  • @Tonithenightowl- same here, feller. For years i'd only known Bobby Paris'.

  • Never heard this one before. As one nite owl to another it's fantastic !!!!!!

  • ROCKIN!!

  • Gene Chandler actually did the vocal on this...this tune was recorded in the same session with the Duke of Earl which nat records sold to Vee Jay for distrubition.

  • I had this record!

  • Leadsquirter...if I asked real nice (lol) would there be any possibility that I could get my own copy of this song?

  • I've been looking for this song for a long time. Saw that Gene Chandler had it on a CD. Went to his website, e-mailed him and he responded very quickly with the info I needed. I only had a hunch that it was Gene singing the lead on this one and it turns out that he was. Nice tune, nice man. Thanks Gene!

  • I recall this one from around the time of "Duke of Earl." The DJs always said that it was Gene Chandler and the Dukays who sang it.

  • Not that I know of.

  • Interesting! Thanks for the info.

  • Featuring Gene Chandler on lead vocals. This tune went to #73 on Billboard's pop charts in 1962. This is the group (uncredited)backing Chandler on "Duke Of Earl".

  • Nice bit of info Fella.
