Gene Chandler actually did the vocal on this...this tune was recorded in the same session with the Duke of Earl which nat records sold to Vee Jay for distrubition.
I've been looking for this song for a long time. Saw that Gene Chandler had it on a CD. Went to his website, e-mailed him and he responded very quickly with the info I needed. I only had a hunch that it was Gene singing the lead on this one and it turns out that he was. Nice tune, nice man. Thanks Gene!

I recall this one from around the time of "Duke of Earl." The DJs always said that it was Gene Chandler and the Dukays who sang it.
