  • you just got me to watch a full lecture without finding something else to watch

  • @tikkadude mission accomplished.

  • what is the name of the cellphone that you can build yourself

  • In Britain theres few chances to build things and think of career in engineering eg No robotics clubs but just by watching this I want to become an engineer. thanks jeremy.

  • @OmarDreid Blaze your own trail! The opportunities won't always be there, but you can always make them yourself.

  • @sciguy14 Thanks for the advice :D

  • LEGOs and Gundam made me interested in engineering :|

  • Engineer's Rock!

    Mr. Blum Rocks!

  • Engineer's Rock!

  • Well done Jeremy!

  • Chika chika yeah!

  • erm, what was the 2nd rule?

  • @aksh16 The seconds rule of Ignite Ithaca is "Drink Beer". The event was held in a bar.

  • very good presentation, well done and keep it up ;)

  • LEGO FTW Lego Mindstorm are my first robot team :3

  • I know a lot of the engineer students in the usa are international students from India/China and the Mid East. Also India alone produces many engineers along with ASIA. Is this a good thing or a bad thing?

  • @cristoretornebiblia I wouldn't say it's good or bad. I certainly don't want to say that we should have less foreign students. Many American students are skeptical of going into engineering because they think it's hard, and because they are not exposed to it in highschool at all.

  • Awesomely awesome video.

  • if you can buy engineer in China/Japan, who have a ton more Hardware for $3.50 and hour why spend $100,000 training one in the USA or UK?

Don't blame me for this this is real life.

  • @Films4You There's nothing wrong with foreign engineers, but we already outsource much of our blue-collar labor. If we start outsourcing white-collar jobs like engineering, everybody in America will be unemployed, and worse - we will completely loose the ability to innovate new technologies that help us compete in the global economy.

  • @sciguy14 It's not my view-point to buy engineer in China/Japan.

    "I agree with you,"

It's just nobody told the Government who appear to cut investment in the hope of quick bucks. This gets quick votes. This appears to be their attitude = Why should we care we will only be in power 4-5 years, let's get the cash while we can.

  • i wish my school gave ways of kids to get into this stuff, our i.t. and tech department get no attention. only boring stuff like languadges

  • Loved it! ;)

  • you're sooooo good, sciguy. So good.

    S.S.

  • You are my hero!

  • @jeriellsworth Thanks Jeri! That means a lot coming from you!

  • keep up the good work

  • Haha, nice! The cussing wasn't necessary but it made it pretty awesome.

  • first time I've ever heard you swear on video :P

  • nice!

  • Very awesome presentation!, it pulled me in from start to finish, the slides were moving at a good pace and you didn't drone on and eventually dull everyone lol. Great job!! :)

  • @dchains Thanks! At ignite, the slides auto-advance every 30 seconds, so I have no choice but to keep it moving! :)

  • I'm a math major, and I kinda used to wish I was an electrical engineering major...but I couldn't decide. I love math too much to give it up.

  • wow, for the firs time there actually some emotions in his word, not just the robotic voice that makes you fall asleep like usual

  • Wow that's intense. I'm envious.

I'm also a junior right now, in Electrical Engineering.

  • you are truly a great role model, weird to say, but i wish i was you

  • @jordannew Don't wish you were me, wish to be better! Everybody has something awesome to offer to the world!

  • like if you played with LEGO's when you where little

  • @youwantohya GO AWAY

  • Hey i like your vids but please try not to use shit so much. There is no need to cuss like that if your smart.

  • @byront37 Sorry about that :) I generally try not to curse in my videos of course, but I was very excited and emotive during the presentation.

  • Very Inspiring. As a matter of fact, what got me interested in engineering was my computer dissection at about 10 years ago. It was epic. I, to, completely destroyed it in the process of taking it apart. Good times.
