Anorexia and bulimia. Is this a type of psychotic disorder. The reason I ask is that obviously the "perception" is distorted. Ones image of reality is quite distorted. If you are 5'7" and 130 lbs and see someone staring back at you who weighs 200lbs then obviously there is a disconnect somewhere. There are certain compulsions involved obviously as far as purging, etc. but I wonder if in some way it isn't almost a psychosis. What is the treatment method for these afflictions? Cure rate?

i used to starve myself when i was fifteen even though i was already naturally thin. I didnt think that i had anorexia--i wouldnt recognize it--but by the time i was 16 i realized that i was too thin (5'3'' and 94lbs). i had the potential to be taller (i come from a tall family) but i atrophied due to lack of food and nutrients. now i have to live with this all my life. what i'm trying to say is, dont underestimate anorexia/bulemia. address it before it get out of control.

oh my god. seeing this really makes me feel so blessed that i dont feel i need to do this and i pray for those who r going thru this and that they really try to get some help for it. becuz most of these sinful things humans love lead to death. drugs, sex, looks, its just crazy and it makes me think hard about why i try to stay confident in myself all the time. good video!!

Y cómo que ya no se cura? Sí, si se cura. Es duro, vale, pero se cura. Psicoterapia, centros de internamiento, y sobre todo, mucho apoyo y mucho cariño por parte de amigos y familiares. Yo mido 1,85 m, y hace unos años llegué a pesar 58 kg. Estaba entrando en un transtorno anoréxico sin saberlo. Pero sí, se cura.

Como decia, hay personas que se sienten solas, y llevan guardado mucho solor dentro del alma, dejar de comer es su forma de pedir ayuda, de llamar la etencion, aunque muchas veces es inconsciente, me refiero a que ELLAS no saben que lo hacen por llamar la atencion, solo dejan de comer porque estan molestas por algo, y necesitan desahogarse. Tambien hay casos donde el dolor del alma es tan grande, que necesitamos un dolor externo para sentirnos equilibrados, lo digo por experiencia.

Meh. Girls back in the 20s and 30s, BEFORE media went insane, were FAT, and probably the greatest Sex goddesses of all time. Funny how these girls/models go so skinny as to have no bust, no hips, no ass, no definition in their face (and this is what the modeling companies hire for). i used to starve myself when i was fifteen even though i was already naturally thin. I didnt think that i had anorexia--i wouldnt recognize it--but by the time i was 16 i realized that i was too thin (5'3'' and 94lbs). i had the potential to be taller (i come from a tall family) but i atrophied due to lack of food and nutrients. now i have to live with this all my life. what i'm trying to say is, dont underestimate anorexia/bulemia. address it before it get out of control.
