  • you really need to update your camera

  • @Qasarean

Watch a video that isn't 11 months old.. or say that 11 months ago..

  • Why is the BALCS stuff thinner? Which one is better for what?

  • @Judokkaa It is not thinner, just shaped differently. Each armor has an NIJ rating and that is what determines how thick/strong it is. This video is just showing the differences in the cut,

  • @JCRF I should have worded that a little cleaer i guess, I ment why is it shappend differently, what is the benifit of the different shape?

  • @Judokkaa

Different companies developed them at different times.

  • @Judokkaa Different strokes for different folks I guess. I'm sure there is some proper research behind it, but I think BALCS is the newer cut compared to the other cut and has been standardized to a degree, in the US military. The BALCS is also less constrictive in the chest area, try holding your arms out like you are aiming a pistol, you don't want armor that is wide across the chest bunching up and interfering with your stance and just being annoying. I may be wrong that's just my guess.

  • @JCRF Yeah that's what I suspected. I have a NIJ level 2 concealable in the none BALCS cut, and I find it's not restricting at all and quite comfortable, but then again I have never tried the other cut so I have nothing to compare it too. But you're right it kinda bunches up somewhat after a while. I'd be intrested to try out the BALCS stuff.
