Girl Recovering After Pit Bull Attack
An 8 y/o girl hospitalized after being attacked by a pit bull.
It happened when Kelcee was getting off the school bus.
He says the dog's owner, Clinton Woosley, saw the dog get loose.
"He saw the dog attack Kelcee, and he got the dog off of her and told her to run while he tried to hold the dog. The dog got loose from him, and attack her again".

Some now are wonderful family pets, some in foster care, some at Best Friends have passed their canine good citizenship test, others still working to pass it. Funny, if you belong to a dog club then why are they allowing a different breed in their meetings? AKC registries usually only allow AmStaffs at those type of meetings.
And BTW, I pet a pitbull this morning. I was walking down the street of Plymouth MA and there was a lady with a young one on his leash, just turned 2. Very sweet boy. Licked my fingers and as you can see, I still have every one of them. Was very nice to the Bichon pal he was with.

Great, you petted a pitbull. Well, a few months ago, I called animal control on one of my neighbor's pitbulls. Now they are all gone. Problem solved. I wasn't the only one who called and complained. Everyone in the neighborhood hated those stupid pitbulls.

When the owner of the victims dog tries to interrupt the attack, the pitbull begins to attack the owner of the foo foo pet. So the pitbull looks at the human as a combatant and in true pitbull form, attacks the human.

Ever seen a GSD's herding "kick in"? Usually, the worst that happens is someone gets nipped on the heels. If the GSDs protection instinct "kicks in", well that's a different story. GSDs were breed much smarter and able to distinguish the difference. They also have a love for the family which prohibits it from attacking family members.

@TheWarloghe And btw-The pit was NEVER used in ratting; you are thinking of some of its cousins like the Rat Terrier, the Jack Russell and the Irish terrier. The staffy bull, its European counterpart, was bred mostly to fight other dogs as its build isn't suited to ratting (the short coat doesn't protect from rat bites.)

Second, most experts say that no matter the breed a dog must be carefully introduced to a baby so it understands what the baby is: the pup of the alpha male and female, something to be guarded. Pit bulls are generally not recommended to families with small children not because of being violent, but because they are very strong dogs for their size and might knock the little one over. Only showed aggression once, and that was towards the neighborhood bully who tried to wrestle the boy to the ground and hit him. Dogs don't think the same way humans do-they see their family and family friends as part of their pack, and outsiders as something to be defended against. In cases where human aggression is involved, it is usually a cocktail of 1) extremely poor socialization 2) territorial defense 3) prey drive and 4) genetic makeup.

@parracatau I have had multiple pit bulls, they all have amazing temperaments. They are the sweetest dogs you can ever have if you raise them right. I made sure they were socialized from a young age, that they were constantly around people and other dogs. They aren't for everyone. They're strong, high energy, and stubborn. But, if you stimulate their brains and their bodies, they can be as sound in mind and personality as a lab. Just saying. Don't assume you know all pits.

It happened when Kelcee was getting off the school bus.
He says the dog's owner, Clinton Woosley, saw the dog get loose.

Some now are wonderful family pets, some in foster care, some at Best Friends have passed their canine good citizenship test, others still working to pass it. What his dogs showed is they still love people after the horrors they went through and all rehabilitated to varying degrees because they are individuals and all had different traumas. Great dogs.

Most if not all of those dogs are in shelters, not real people's homes. They are constantly "babysat" because they can't be trusted. They are in SHELTERS not real homes. Their environment is strictly controlled and they are constantly observed. THEY ARE NOT FAMILY DOGS. The normal family will never have one of those killers in their home. They are kept by PROFESSIONALS with CONSTANT SUPERVISION.

Funny, if you belong to a dog club then why are they allowing a different breed in their meetings? AKC registries usually only allow AmStaffs at those type of meetings.
And BTW, I pet a pitbull this morning. I was walking down the street of Plymouth MA and there was a lady with a young one on his leash, just turned 2. Very sweet boy. Licked my fingers and as you can see, I still have every one of them. Was very nice to the Bichon pal he was with.

When the owner of the victims dog tries to interrupt the attack, the pitbull begins to attack the owner of the foo foo pet. So the pitbull looks at the human as a combatant and in true pitbull form, attacks the human.

The correct temperament of an American Pit Bull Terrier is actually different to what you describe. It is true this is a dominant dog, but less than a doberman and more than a Lab is about right. Ever seen a GSD's herding "kick in"? Usually, the worst that happens is someone gets nipped on the heels. If the GSDs protection instinct "kicks in", well that's a different story. GSDs were breed much smarter and able to distinguish the difference. They also have a love for the family which prohibits it from attacking family members.

@TheWarloghe And btw-The pit was NEVER used in ratting; you are thinking of some of its cousins like the Rat Terrier, the Jack Russell and the Irish terrier. The staffy bull, its European counterpart, was bred mostly to fight other dogs as its build isn't suited to ratting (the short coat doesn't protect from rat bites.)
Criminals use pits for money and drugs. Better owners use them to win trophies like dock diving, flyball, weight pull, or just riding a bike.

It's why you hear about families saying, "Oh my dog Killer never showed signs of aggression." after the "family pitbull" kills a neighbor's child.
They either don't have the capacity to distinguish or ignore the fact that a child is not a threat. It shouldn't be everyone's problem that someone's pitbull is a killer.

It's a combination of the genetics of the dog and its upbringing. I hold more weight on the genetics. The "breeding program" for a pitbull is much different. It was breed with a high prey drive and the desire to ATTACK and KILL. It's what's made them popular for dog fights. Originally, a pitbull that shows human aggression was put down, now pitbull breeders call it "protective".

the ASPCA in New York City gives it to every pit that passes through their halls. Many of them pass it. (Call if you do not believe me.) I volunteered there and many of the pits that got saved from the dogmen in time did very nicely with children 9 and older. Prey drive is high in pits, but it is also high in Greyhounds, most terriers, and even the Labrador (that is why they chase tennis balls.)

Only showed aggression once, and that was towards the neighborhood bully who tried to wrestle the boy to the ground and hit him. (Growled and scratched at the door-scared the crap out of the little toad.) Was otherwise quite pleasant even to visitors like me-kept begging for bacon!!

In cases where human aggression is involved, it is usually a cocktail of 1) extremely poor socialization 2) territorial defense 3) prey drive and 4) genetic makeup.

Poor girl, she's so scared and aggressive. Also she has been backyard bred. It was sweet to see how smart she is. @parracatau I have had multiple pit bulls, they all have amazing temperaments. They are the sweetest dogs you can ever have if you raise them right. I made sure they were socialized from a young age, that they were constantly around people and other dogs. They aren't for everyone. They're strong, high energy, and stubborn. But, if you stimulate their brains and their bodies, they can be as sound in mind and personality as a lab. Just saying. Don't assume you know all pits.

i hope those dogs are being shipped to a mulching factory were they can rightfully be murdered. these dogs shouldnt be allowed in society. they are vicious aggressive animals whose instincts are to kill any other living creature. i have to carry a knife because two of them live in my neighborhood and the dumbass owners walk them without leashes. i only wish that they come after me or my dog i will rip its entrails out and fuck up the owners if they even dare have anything to say about it.

@Spitfire995 you are dumb. You can't blame a breed, its the owners fault. I've read stories where pit bulls have given their lives for their owners. The ones that attack are poorly trained. Fact: more people are attacked by Labs and Golden Retrivers then pits bulls. The only difference is that Labs and Golden Retrivers are soft-mouthed breeds. Also those dogs in the video where scared and poorly treated. Another fact: mastiffs have a stronger bite force. Don't diss the Pit

@WarOfWolves52 bullshit pitbulls have it in their blood to attack and kill. ive seen normal owner's pitbulls attack other dogs for no reason. they should be banned for the safety of society.

@Spitfire995 They were bred to fight/bait bulls. Thats where the term "bull or bully' comes from. Also, you have to follow certain regulations including $100,000 inscurance on them. Pits are the worse of your worries. Ever consider for dog bite/attacks. The worse dog you could deal with is a scared one, no aggeressive. if you had to ban a breed for bites it would Labs or Goldens. Nothing against them but they have more bites on people than pits.
