  • I did exactly what you said and it sounds like shit...

  • cool

  • like if you didnt know stewie griffin was a techno producer

  • good stuff, РЕСПЭКТ!

  • awesome !! really usable.. it reminds me of the D feild on my roland D2 groovbox..im tryin this asap..

  • sigh. i watched this hoping its without a midi controller. o_O

  • cause it wont map to FM8's pitch bend wheel.

  • this is not cool its amazing thanx for this!

  • its the ss commander in inglorious basterds

  • nice one!

  • How would I go abour changing it from HZ to PB and I don't see anything in that box when i switch to midi mapping

  • Works well for pitching up audio but i'm having latency when the fx is on and when i'm down pitching, not just the pitch is going down but the tempo too... What am i doing rong.

  • How can I automate pitch !??? Just the pitch , when I record and move my pitch when It records the audio pitch bending but I don't see any automation line !???

  • God stil med den video. Den hjalp mig lige på det helt rigtige tidspunkt.

  • If i record a voice clip, how do i apply effects such as grain delay to a slection of the recording, rather than the whole recording? been trying for ages how to do this

  • @dessy53 Pressing the on or off button on an effect will automatically bring up the "on/off" automation line on the track. Then you can use that automation line to turn the effect on or off at different points in the track.

  • nice song!

  • Useful tip and nice simple video to explain it.

  • Nice

    I like this

  • fucking fed sang, btw

  • skal da love for du er sent/tidligt oppe :p

  • Thanks a lot! I've been wondering forever how to get a good pitch bend effect. This might not be the very best, but it's a great start and I think it'll lead me to find better effects down the road :)

  • Thanks for this tut, very useful.

  • amazing work!

  • how the bloody hell do you map something to the pitch bend? need an answer asap please. im using a macbook pro with a usb cable if that helps. thanx

  • This is a really basic thing. Just google midi mapping in Ableton Live.

  • comand m click what you want mapped move the pitch bend wheel. in the midi map area upper left it should say like pitchbend or something

  • Thank you for this!

Now i just need a pitch wheel.. and not a knob.

  • THANK YOU! JUST WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR!

  • Solid Trick man!. Sounds great. I will try and put that in to one of my songs.

  • u loveee this.. that sounds like a dubby kind of song.. i like alot...

  • it's been awhile since I've seen suck a cool tip/trick. Thx fpr sharing

  • so easy

    but so clever

  • can you also automate the knobs in the grain delay..? cause i got now pitch on my midi and

  • NICE THX VERY MUCH! :D

  • Cool stuff man. If you do it kind of fast, it sounds like a record speeding up or slowing down. Like, major tempo changes

  • thanks dude a was looking for this since logn time ago

  • looks like im shit outta luck on this one. my pitchbend is broken, and i have a pocket knife stuck in it to prevent it from sending randome midi signals. loool.

  • this one is really cool man...tnx!

  • popo loffio onesto

  • Thanks for the tip! I like that sound. It reminds me of a turntable in a way. Interesting music too. Kind of circus like...

  • thankyou, sounds a bit like Nosaj Thing

  • Great tip! Keep up the good work. Interesting tunes btw.

  • This is a great effect man.. very interesting indeed I'm gonna experiment. Thanks for the tutorial, I'll sub to your channel and check out the other vids.

  • i might not use this in the context that you have it, but I will definatly experiment with it in other effects in live..thanks for the tip!

  • what screen recorder are you using?

  • its called iShowU - only availible for mac i think

  • Thanx

  • Nice little effect there.

  • Thanks for the tip. I personally like using the pitch tip on individual melodies and notes but entire tracks.

  • thanks for this nice tip

  • i like how the camera follows the mouse and I could see only a part of the screen. pretty trippy. and thanks for the trick!

  • At 1.32 you go up to the midi mapping page. Where can I find that? On your page at the top left you three folders labeled 1, 2 and 3. I have these but under that you have one that looks like a refresh type symbol then you have one under that which is obviously your midi mapping page. I dont have these 2. Where are they?

    Thanks

  • What version of Live are you using?

  • @eupel1

    press apple/control + m

  • @eupel1 the midi mapping page should show up when you press ctrl+m, or the MIDI symbol in the upper right corner (as oevboev did).

  • Thanx. That was very useful.

  • glad you say so:)

  • is there a way to do it in cubase ??

It's good to see how you do it.

  • Thx for letting me know dude! remember to also read my correction of the tip in "about this video" so you don't mess with the midi sync:)

  • I Love That!!!!

never thought of using a grain effect on the master before.....Nice 1

  • Thanks dude!

I was also really stunned when I discovered this effect, hope you will use it! Also, I would be glad to hear if you have any ideas on how to evolve it with even more parameters or whatevers:)

    Anyways, thx for commenting!

  • Really Nice tip :)

But we need a MIDI Controller :(

  • Hi Pier,

    Thanks for commenting!

Having a midi-controller is every single cent, euro or pound worth - I highly recommend it for a better DAW-experience.

Alternatively you can map the grain delay to be controlled by your mouse or track pad, write me if u want more info on that:)

  • putting the grain delay (and any other effect) in a rack will enable you to use "macro buttons" , with which you can control several parameters at once.. very cool
