  • where you running open an exhust system or open exhaust? sounds very lean.

  • @96cd6 Yes its open exhaust dumping at the bottom of the bay where you see the flame from. It was a bit lean but nothing bad. I already fixed that problem but yeah it sounds that way reguardless.

  • @ashtonsser yeah i have a 94 4door with a sr20VE+T but people say it's bad to run the car with out having the exhaust hooked up. they say runnng open exhust is bad for the turbo is this true?

  • @96cd6 its not bad for the turbo at all. The lower the backpressure the more power and the easier it is on the turbo. Again it all depends on what you can get away with where you live. Here we have no emissions and no safety and the cops really dont care.  So I can get away with it driving on the street.

  • Ashton have you done any runs? How is traction with the shorter gears? Do you like it better or worse than a p11 tranny?

  • @mccaf2250 They are not really shorter. Im using the 04 spec V gearbox so it has the 4.1 final drive vs the 4.4. 1-3 are almost identical to my 99 p11 gearstack i was running in the b13 trans, 4th gear is just a tad shorter crossing 125mph at 8000 vs 132mph, but im also reving higher, 8700 rpm rev limiter is what i set it to. The jwt c2 cams and springs and retainers really love the high rpms. It feels like im hitting VVL at 7500 then jumps instanly to 8700. So ill actually have more mph

  • @ashtonsser Really that's interesting. I was thinking of getting a p11 but how much did the mazworx kit and the tranny cost you? Im on the forum as sneakyowner just shoot me a pm.

  • @mccaf2250 I got the trans with the p12 bellhousing on it from Mazworx for $800, Mount kit, $499, Shifter and axles $200, Custom flywheel for my twin disk $740, S13 24 spline 1" twin disks $240. It wasnt cheap but soo far from what i can see, its the best swap we can do on our cars bar none.
