@r3v3rs3tWiLiT3 Thanks! My camera doesn't have time lapse settings. I record on a camcorder with a hard drive and speed up the results in the editor. The raw files are huge (15 to 20 GB for an hour of HD video). In this case, I used 50 times normal speed, which would correspond to a photo being taken about every 2 seconds.
@knotasidechannel There were two layers of cloud in that shot, and that effect is really only noticeable when the footage is sped up. I liked that part too. :D
Things were fine all along, except that my computer was dying. But now YouTube won't let anyone comment on my newest video. I thought I was just being ignored until a loyal subscriber pointed out the problem. Oh well...
So beautiful.. :').. Especially when the sun rays and the clouds crossed.. and what made it even better, the sky was darker :) I guess that scene was shot in the evening? ;) Wonderful.. and welcome back Philip!
@Nic0las11x12 Thanks! The final shots were recorded around 6 pm. The camera's iris was set small to record the sun, so when the sun went behind the cloud, things appeared somewhat darker than they were in reality.
The original title for the video was misleading I'm afraid -- North Dakota is the name of the song, not the place where I recorded -- I fell asleep last night before filling in the video description. Sorry about that. (But if I ever get to ND, I'll be sure to film the sky.)
just letting you know, i might use this in my next music video

[sigh] Would my life be as lovely, if it were time-lapsed and had a soundtrack by Lyle Lovett?
RockingJamboree 1 year ago
@RockingJamboree Yes, I think it would.
Unless you get one of Lyle's songs where he's being bitter about women and/or love. He has quite a few of those...

You're alive, and you posted a video! I have a reason to be on YouTube again!
Seriously, I only watch videos from a few people any more, and yours are the ones I like most. I really love the last 20 seconds of this one. <3
