@thelasthallow Never played Pre-cue, so I signed up to see the diff and already I see a better community and more freedom with my character build. Besides if it was against the law I doubt I would be able to play, by now the law would have found the developers and unplugged the game.

@thelasthallow Well I'm on Liberator, because I have a hard time understanding how to acutally help(might fix that in a minute), and it seems to be in good shape, a few NPC's are nekkid but that's no biggie, the society seems good, and already signs that they may be working on the JTL portion may be in the works in both servers. If anything, other than a small thing here and there graphics are as good or better than the NGE SWG, animations too.
@thelasthallow its one of two servers hosted by swgemu.com, the other server is a full fledge test, Liberator is incomplete but stable enough to enjoy and to play most things.

My friend, first look around on the b4 u post a stupid video like this. Just to clear some cloudy facts u missed.
1. John Smedley responded to swgemu after they accounced it, and he said, they wont take any action against it and also offered jobs to the emu dev team members depends on the mu success rate.
2., Monthly Subs does NOT equal to DONATIONS. Its everyones personal choice to help them with real money or not. SOE/LA said, they take actions if they ask MONTHLY FEE for emu.
There's nothing in the EULA or ToS in the copy of the game they are working from that specify what they are doing is illegal. There is a reason why they call for a certain version of the game.
SOE and LucasArts are fully aware of what the SWGemu team is doing. SOE has responded saying "they don't think they can pull it off", and LucasArts supports the SWGemu development team.
actually the real reason behind the EMULATOR project to continue is this, the old original copies of the CD's do not have a policy regarding emulating (which is why you HAVE to have the original copies of the game to play the emulator) which the new CD's now have an emulating policy. ALSO the emulator is completely free and will never cost money as that is completely illegal and its not against the law to emulate unless specified.
i still played swg for years, even after the update, because i just couldn't get enough of the space part in the game, so stop crying, i stopped because i got bored from the only playable part of it, and because i had 99% of the faith i had in soe, which wasn't much even back then

Except.... those bylaws ONLY apply to Emulator projects that are profiting from the game. Since the SWGEMU staff requires you to buy/install an actual hard-copy of SWG (which most veterans have) this is not breaking any legal boundaries whatsoever. This is no more illegal than hosting a mod and so long as they stay a non-profit organization, there is little to nothing SOE can do about it.

as much as i could mame you for how ignorant you are i see how you possibly think that the emulator is illegal but rest assured you are wrong in every aspect, no one pays to play the emulator and SWG died because SOE tanked the game that they didnt even create, now in the hands of a very very very small develpment team SWG only receives "cosmetic" upgrades, in small insignificant patches, the servers are reducing, the whole game wasnt ruined because of the emu, SOE ruined it and chased em.

1 its legal to play emu because it only takes donations and not subscriptions
2 all rights of lucas arts are waved when they sold the game and its respective likenesses to the customer we own the game client so we can do what we want with it including making an emu

Wow. Pure fail video. SWGEmu is using old unused code, that IS NOT copied. It is made by the devs themselves. They are not charging any money for it. They don't allow people to download the trial and play, nor the launcher download off the site. Maybe you should read on both sides before you start putting stupid videos.

I doubt SOE cares anyways, as soon as SW:TOR comes out SOE's SWG (NGE) is sunk and they'll move to more profitable games instead of holding a server for the 50 people who still play SWG instead of TOR. You do know the devs for that built their code from scratch and that abandoned code is free game right? SOE did not release the code for the abandoned pre-cu game, therefore the folks making the emu HAD to make their own code themselves. They are not using the retarded SOE's code. Did you get banned and that's why you are against it? part 1

The worst that's gonna happen to the emu community is they'll lose their accounts on the SOE servers. Which is terrible news and everyone will have a lot of regrets I'm sure.
