  • Lan-Fang looks cute XD

  • the last boss reminds me of zeus from greek mythology

  • It would sound better you did the same flawless Yie Ar Kung Fu 2 except that it has SCC music.

  • TA DE SACANAGEM!! PORRA VICIADO DO CAPETA, EU NUNCA ICHEGUEI SEM PERDER SANGUE NO FINAL DE QUALQUER ESTAGIO!!

  • Revertebrae moves faster than lightning.

Seriously, your calm dodging there blew me away, I would have gone absolutely berzerk at this game that starts so nice but soon becomes 'straightjacket' difficult and frustrating. I wonder what super playtester freak at Konami said 'ok, now the difficulty setting is just right'. :)

  • awesome !! @@

  • OMG you are amazing, I never could get past level 6

  • These are used to play the game 21 years ago or more honest, was my favorite game and you win and delivered to the final stage of the Old Old difficulty the person who plays video stanza honest person versed and witty

  • the backgrounds are amazing!

  • hight music fm-pac msx

    youtube.com/watch?v=RVy7jpX11RE

  • i hd this game

  • AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOME

  • AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOME

  • this version is 1000x better than C64 version

  • @revertebrae: Can you do the same video but with SCC music? It might be frustrating but it would sound better.

  • This game was annoying as hell

  • En tres palabras!!! In-Cre-Ible !!!!!

  • funny how the flying-kick toddlers just disappear as they get hit.

  • If that's the real ending, I glad I never came close to it. Man, games' endings were so boring back then. But in the other hand at least I didn't even had that as a "goal" for games at that time. They were most about playing in the moment than a sort of story-telling medium. I guess it started to change with games like metal gear and some others.

  • wow couldn't imagine that a sequel existed..and that you were allowed to kick flying dwarves..

  • imbaa

  • Totally mastered!!! Liked this game a lot, but used many energy mugs to complete all stages. And I learned how to get the invicibility. (Fox example) Item appeared when I punched the left wall on stage 4, Wen-Hu.

  • The first boss has awesome hair.

  • caracas você ficou estudando como passar isso uns 15 anos pra conseguir né?

  • Great game!

After all that, he won a pot?!

  • @Deathclok hey, pot is good...

  • @doomdoomdoo A pot. Not pot

  • 強い・・

    強すぎる・・・

  • But it was while he hit her. Everything's supposed to freeze for a second when someone scores a hit. The hits probably didn't count.

Besides, it's an old game. The collision boxes are probably all weird.

  • this shit is rigged, because in level two, the lady she hit him flat in the face and nothing happened. so yeah he is using the cheat.

  • you appear to be right, she definitely hit him a bunch of times at 1:02

  • 2:53

    nice play~

  • Thats not her pantys perv. Its her shoes and socks. Geez.

  • i think i can see Mei-ling's panties when she's defeated

  • ahahahahah oh god this game was amozing ahahaha you play really good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Motherf.... How did you beat Li-Jen so easily? That has to be one of the toughest final bosses ever.

  • Pinyin romanizations of the boss names:

    Yen-pei (stage 1) becomes Yenbei.

    Lan-fang (stage 2) becomes Lanfang.

    Po-chin (stage 3) becomes Bojin.

    Wen-hu (stage 4) becomes Wenhu.

    Wei-chin (stage 5) becomes Weijin.

    Mei-ling (stage 6) becomes Meiling.

    Han-chen (stage 7) becomes Hanzhen.

    Li-Jen (stage 8) becomes Liren.

  • You're awesome man !!!

  • I cannot believe it! Just perfect game!!! I used to play it a lot, but I was not even close to such results...

  • what cheat did you use? this game is impossible to finish. The best I could do, was fighting against that guy around 3:06

  • You must improve your gameplay, bud. I bet it in 1988 a bunch of times in a real MSX, no cheating. Also some friends of mine did it around the same time.

  • can anyone tell where i can get the original metal gear for the msx?

  • 超うめぇー!all perfect!!

  • Ok, you had the final cut on the video... I was just hallucinating on your skills and wondering which joystick you had at this time (arcade turbo for me).

That's kind to admit the video was post-produced... Even ILM could'nt have realize this in 6mn and 12 seconds...

  • You mean my emulator programming skills ;)

I use a Saitek P880 joypad for oldschool gaming.

  • Ho Ho ?!?!, did you really build the emulator ?

    Was it from scratch ?

Or are you simply programming your game saves?

If you build the emu from scratch, I'll forgive you for cheating on the video, otherwise I'll forgive you anyways, this game is unfinishable all the way perfect (Even Son-Goku can't with a Saitek or not;:/). ;oD

  • yes, and yes it was from scratch =p

  • Wow, what was the api level(asm,c/c++,java ?) and the toolchain you possibly used ?

Nice job. Most of the time, emus rarely run at the same speed than the initial product... Your shot is pretty close because the animation/music match perfectly my recalls (I had a Canon V-20 msx). ;o)

  • plain good old C.

Most emus are pretty good lately, even regarding speed, and better than the Canon V-20 I have right here with several broken keys :P

  • Good old c will never let us down. (cl.exe, gcc, other ?)

Yes, emus are fun now, I was glad to run the old roms on a (pandorized) psp as well.(metal gear, usas, penguin adventure, galious :D).

The Canon was really good(first game : Knightmare). After, I got a phillips MSX2.

I still have both, and both arrow keys are not working very well anymore. My joy port 1 was kind of destroyed, I managed to repair it.

Did you try to strike 3 guards sequence of yie ar kung-fu 2 with the arrow keys :o\ ? ;D

  • char you="revertebrae";

    if(you_built_meisei)you="mkoelew";

if(you=="mkoelew"){printf("nice to meet you Michaël \n

It was not totally from scratch as you used your own Sega Li and couple of other libs ;D \n

    take care");}

  • That is true that you are REALLY GOOD at it...

GOD, R U finishing it all perfect ?! Well if not cheating (it seems not) you are really good.

I never dared trying to beat them all perfect.

  • Man, you are perfect! What a Hell! Congratulations, this game remember me my kid times. Thanks for the video!

  • Man... You are the best˜

  • Man... you're good at this!

Which characters were available in two-player mode?

  • I played a game when I was very young that I realy wanna see it back. But i don't remember the name. It was merieval like, you could get transformed into a frog I belive and the music was EPIC!

There was a part I couldn't pass... can anyone help me please? Thanks.

  • Sounds like Ghosts 'n Goblins by Capcom.

Why do you ask it in this video thread? :P

  • It's not GnG, it is muuuuch older, monochrome.

I'm asking this here cos you seems informed. :)

Damn how long I played that game.

WAIT! I got a remembrance... when you took up a object like a torch a writing came out that say "El fuego que no quema" or something like that.

  • I got it! It's Camelot :)

  • Really nice job. I remember when I played this game, it was really hard and most of my damage I got from those flying enemies.

  • I'm not very good at this game either. :)

This video was made with meisei (my MSX1 emu), using a feature that allows me to reverse time and correct mistakes.

  • WOW, you're amazing!! I remember playing this game when I was a kid almost 20 yrs ago!

  • Heh! I still remember the cheat to get a lot of lifes... But I don't think you need it!

  • I like the first one better. This one just looks retarded

  • damn li-jen is so cheap

  • OMG!!! I had that game and this video is JUST EPIC!!

  • how can i play it please

  • what a great player..i could neber do that!

  • nice job,i could hardly get past po-chin the fat bastard

  • I got to the last boss, but never beat him. Nice job!

    MSX(2) ruled!

  • I've played this game a lot on my MSX. I only managed to finish it with the E S S C C C F F F F cheat. (I still remember it after all those years :D). And even then, it was friggin hard.

The last boss is above SNK bosses in cheapness land.

  • @shatterhandbr83: Even Ignis?

  • @geekgo4 I dunno, does Ignis teleport from one side to screen to the other while "fireballs" are falling from skies at every direction?

I really think the last boss in Yie-Ar Kung-FU 2 is completely fucked up.

  • boss in last stage is crazy

  • wow cool

  • congrats you win a pot.

  • Am I the only one that can't stand this game's controls? If it controlled like the NES game, I'd love it, but up and side does a kick? Up and punch does a side jump? What kind of screwed-up controls are those?

  • i hope they make a remake of this game. other playable character, vs mode, and challenge mode can make this game really awsome.

  • Very nice played! Did you know that every stage has a way to drop that "flawless-potion"? Fox example in stage 4, Wen-Chu, it drops by punching the left edge. I used to play this game a lot, about 165 stages (it started again after 8 opponents) and then run out of lives - after 1000 000 points you couldn´t get any more extras. Good memories, thanks for posting!

  • Did you use cheat?

    You were not damaged.

  • I used meisei, an MSX1 emulator that features realtime reverse and rerecording, allowing tool-assisted-speedruns and things like this. So, while I recorded this, everytime I got hit, I just rewinded a bit and tried again.

  • At least you are honest about yourself having no skill.

Now I have a secret fantasy, and do you know what it is? Jumping on your fat stomach, pouring oil on it and then setting it on fire!

  • "At least you are honest about yourself not being perfect at the game."

There, fixed that for you. The goal was to make a movie of a flawless play through the game. He's the actor, and when he screws up a scene, he rewinds and re-takes it until he gets it right. Sound familiar? It's how most movies are made.

  • @gblargg Damn, for a sec i tho it was real xD but is ok, and yeah, it reminds to the movies, but still seems pretty badass when fighting the las one. Lookin' the video without knowing of the savings runs out some adrenaline xD although is just a Nes game.

  • sweet u r good player i remamber play this game nevr pass the 3 stag XD

is there any way u can sind me this game plzzzzzzz

  • CONGRATULATIONS

  • You have a Jedi skills.

  • Thanks for posting this. Yie Ar Kungfu 2 was a very good and exciting game to play a real good successor to its predecessor.

Li-Jen was the most difficult to beat.

  • So you beat up the usurper of the Chinese empire and you get a pot?

  • WOW dude you'r an Excellent player specially with Final boss and mini bosses , may i ask you play with keyboard or gamepad ?

  • ouch this did my head in when i completed it over 20 years ago it was so hard well done. 8)

  • Guess it's easier when you turn the collision of huh ;)

  • So he applied some kind of an emulator cheat code.. right?

  • Mei Ling is sexy (; , but damn it I feel more bad, because i remember I reached that last insane guy with thunders and never beat him.

  • I used to have this, but I'm crap at games, so I never managed to complete it. All you win is a pot? I don't feel so bad now...

  • It never got any sequels, so I guess he and the pot got together and lived happily ever after. Po-Chin must be jealous now, he protected the pot with all his might(y gas)

  • Li-Jen is such a coward. I remember. :-)

  • I am afraid of meeting this guy in one of the multi players game I play on Internet.

I fear those guys. They live for virtual killing.

  • ah this brings back so much memories. wen-hu with his flying mask and li-jen were the most annoying enemies imo ^^

  • ラスボスのノーダメージが神すぎるwww

  • amazing playing .. really I was impressed

  • That must have costed ya quite some practicing time :)

  • The Black Lotus?

Er, anyway.. it didn't require any practice, just half an hour worth of back and forth playing in my MSX emulator while it sequentially saved the keyboard/joystick states. (basically realtime rewinding for half a second whenever I got hit, then retrying)

  • Yep, The Black Lotus ^^

Sure it's emulated all right, but even just the fight with Li-Jen alone must have costed LOTS of retries :)

  • That was impressive

  • congratulations, thank you for your bravery!
