Powerful song. I hope the black people singing opened their eyes and stopped racially abusing the white man. We want to live in peace but your racism holds us all back.
Took me 23 years to realise this song was about racism i'm so ashamed. The words are so beautiful and moving. (so you see wiki is good for some things)
This song reminds me mostly about Nelson Mandela. But also black people on a whole. The struggles we have been through and the ones we face everyday! Now don't for one minute think I'm a racist I'm not there's good and bad in everyone and I know God made us different for a reason. That reason is simple its so we know each other and love each other regardless.
i agree but it is not just a black or white issue there's Asian, Oriental, the list is endless we have to give God praise as he made man in his own image, and he likes variety after all look at the animals he created and flowers and so on so many different colors and shapes , who is man to Judge the creator on what he made, God did not make a mistake when he made men, Man makes the mistake when he judges the appearance of a person and not the heart of the individual..
we schould all learn the lesson this song teaches! we schould not be surpressed by governments or the rich! we are all equal no matter what anyone thinks or says! we are all born in the nude and under the same sun! we should fight not only for our right to be who we are and our right for a good life,we should take a stand for the rights of all of humanity!
Who cares what people choose too see this song as...The sign of a good song is that a wide audience, of all races, backgrounds and age can relate to the song. Ironically, censoring people would be the thing this song is written against.
This is a great song which represents so many different challenges in life. It's a deep and personal thing on my list with 'The Climb' by Miley Cyrus.
I remember as a very young child I used to hear it as a child, and I could never understand what the lyrics were, just it was a very emotional song. Kind of scary as a nipper, but I'm glad I learnt to understand the context as an adult and how the emotional side fitted into it.
@ScreamingTc .......you just mirrored my tot on this song! i love it.....it has this sad soulful thing bout it....i thank God i am able to understand the song better now....bless him for d song.......
the only person who disliked this video must have something agains't what this video actually means....they can go rot then....cruel fucktards :| *sorry if this sent twice, youtube played up on me*
@TheJellybaby1988 Its used in context.... this song is about the struggle against prejudice and racism... Celtic fans are using it because their manager has been sent death threats and live ammunition because he is irish catholic... and is innocent... but is still bombarded with prejudice, sectarianism and bigotry... so in a way... it is to do with fucking football and intolerance on a whole, prick.
@TheJellybaby1988 our eyes are open beyond football. this song is beautiful and can be inspirational to many groups of people. Including football fans. Go ahead, censor me. But I see the relevance of this song in many walks of life, you don't need to be derogatory about football, you need to be derogatory about bigotry and hatred.
@TheJellybaby1988 they played this song at celtic park on the last day of the season this year instead of the song they play every game before kickoff as a tribute to neil lennon and the things he put up with (sectarianism) throughout the season as well as being attacked by a fan.
Fuck Neil Lennon! This song has fuck all to do with Neil Lennon, as the Poznan has fuck all to do with you! Get bent, you bomb catching faggots! Blue Army!
@truthhunter46 blah blah blah. must you pea brains spoil and put a dampner on every damn youtube video? He is obviously talking about his experience, it could be towards anyone. You must have a guilty conscience.
Wow.....Chilling......To think this song is absolutely perfect for what's happened in Egypt...Amazing how this song has stood the test of time, amazing songwriting, amazing vocals...Labi Siffre is well....amazing....Thank u for posting this, still gives me goosebumps....~LaDy T♥

I gotta say this, but don't laugh!
Is there really a strange resemblance between Labi Siffre in this video and actor Christpoher Walken? Oh oh shall I post this, or not?
I'm thinking... will or should anyone be offended...I'm still pondering..Oooooppps!!! Oh no!
