i always wished this band hadn't had the corny tough guy vocals. everything else was great, but i've never been able to take the macho posturing of rap seriously. always seemed silly to me. can't be bothered listening to some insecure prick banging on about how hard he is.

The people in the audience are not yelling to be individual, they are yelling and chanting against conformity. They are relating to a less popular stance on society and rebelling doing what you are told. Getting together and being opposed to something is nothing bad. Just saying that RatM's point is to not be an individual, but band together as a group to stop injustice. A message is stronger received if it is from the masses.
