@thebigbadwolf96 I made a extra version of the lazer, made it red and then added an adjustment layer with the displacement and set it to red, search "after effects displacement map tutorial" on google or youtube cus im bad at explaining things XD.
Hey! Try using the Screen or Add blending modes/layer modes for the Form layer(s), it lights things up. Also if you can, light up the area around it as best you can using masks and blurs - maybe pre-comp your Form layer and blur it, then apply it to the floor (or walls too) so that it brightens whenever the beam does. Just for effect.
@riccardozigno I made it with in after effects using a plugin called trapcode form, there are lots of great tutorials on youtube but I made this without any which proves its not that hard.

@riccardozigno You can download a trial of google, just search trapcode form.
The trial has a red cross over it but you can key it out like I have done in this video.
